📣 It’s DONE!!! 📣 Our Aussie independent sci-fi feature film @electricfeelmovie is 100% finished!!! This is a project that has been a battle for ten years to get made. Massive thanks to EVERYONE involved at every stage! What we lacked in money on a microbudget film, we gained in creative freedom. The performances are amazing, the pictures and sound are punching far above their weight. It’s a story with heart and a strong mental health theme that feels perfect for this moment in time.
We can’t wait for the world to see it. Trailer and more news coming soon!!! 🍿🍿 #indiefilm #filmmaking #movies #filmdistribution #australianfilm #film #cinema #scifi #mentalhealth

Our colour team for @electricfeelmovie - we’ve spent this week together in the colour lab working on the look for the film. This is the kind of creative collab I love, being on the same page and feeling comfortable enough to bounce ideas off each other.
I gave the direction that every colour choice needs conceptual reasoning, just like every aspect of the film. It’s not just pretty pictures. “How does this colour represent the character or emotion or story in this moment?”
We’ve discussed references, colour theory, feeling, brainstormed ideas and experimented. There’s been a few fun moments where a wacky idea really worked in practice.
I use my deuteranopia colour blindness to an advantage, I paint in big, broad brushstrokes first, and then let the other guys drill down into anything I can’t see.

A look behind the scenes into how “The Pool” was color graded. 🌅
Co-directed by Australian filmmakers Erica Long & Cristobal Olguin, & coloured by Daniel Pardy, “The Pool” was able to emulate a 70’s camera style and made it look sooo easy. 💫
Take a closer look for yourselves on the #OTVAPP where you can stream “The Pool.” 💧 Available on Apple, Android, Roku, FireTV, & watch.weareo.tv.

Final breakdown of the grade from Salt Along The Tongue! Hope everyone has been enjoying these. Check out my profile for the other breakdowns and stills from the film!
Originally, we sought to shoot the entire film on 16mm, however, due to budget and logistical constraints, this sadly wasn't possible. However, the aesthetic was essential to the story, so we went about exploring ways to recreate the look digitally.
We took test footage on both film and several digital cameras, ultimately landing on the RED Komodo. Comparing to our reference film shots, we matched the colour charts, skintones and highlight/shadow detail to create a technical base for the grade, for which we could then build our creative looks from. We then looked at grain structure, halation and softness from both the test shot and a variety of other 16mm sources, then sought to emulate those using the various tools in Baselight.
For more details about how we went about crafting the 16mm look for the film, have a read of the article linked in my bio.

Another breakdown of the grade from Salt Along The Tongue.

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
