Getting to direct this piece has truly been a very special experience for me. An aunt of mine passed away around the time of shooting this, and unfortunately, I couldn’t attend her funeral. But I feel that this project has given me a chance to honor her and all of the strong and resilient Black women in my life who have shaped me into the person I am today.
