☀️ Summer heat is here—and so are early collections!

Now through September, trash, recycling, and food waste collections will begin at 6:00 AM.

🔥 On heat emergency days, we roll out even earlier—5:30 AM.

📦🕠 Set bins out the night before so you don’t miss us! Let’s help crews stay cool and safe! 💪♻️

Your trash and recycling containers play an important role in keeping DC neighborhoods clean, safe, and rodent-free.

Damaged lids, broken wheels, and leaking bins can attract pests and create sanitation issues. Residents are encouraged to regularly check and maintain their containers to help protect their block and community.

Need repairs? Call 311 or visit311.dc.gov to request repairs for eligible District-issued containers. For additional sanitation assistance, call (202) 645-7190.

This National Public Works Week, we’re recognizing the dedicated employees of DPW who help keep the District clean, safe, and moving every single day.

From sanitation crews and snow teams to fleet services, parking enforcement, and emergency response support, public works professionals serve every ward, every season, and every resident across Washington, DC. 🚛🎉 Truck Touch 2026 was a huge success!
