Van 20u tot middernacht zal Irie in de Vinylbar van de FIXY vergezeld worden door niemand minder dan DJ Sueside, die ook wel bekend staat als de officiële live-DJ van de Wu-Tang Clan.

Entree is gratis, de bar is open en de vibes zijn outspoken!

This week Irie made a sample chain around the new release from @ballerbeatsmusic🔥. They just dropped 3 crazy dope edits including this one from @suckaside.

To make the chain complete he used edits from some world renowned editors such as @flipout, 🔥 @jorunbombay 🔥 and @djdsk3000 🔥

This was a special moment! During the opening of the European Hip Hop Congress I got asked to DJ. And so I brought some hip hop, funk and soul 45’s thinking I would play some background music.
Before I knew it the whole crowd was looking at me expecting to see some shit. Luckily I had this edit of the 900 number with me (that I hardly ever play) and came up with a freestyle mini routine on the fly.
Those that know Doug E Fresh album “Play” know where I got that idea from 🧠

Homebase presents: MAZBOU Q (+ DEEJAY IRIE and more)

On Saturday, March 21, Homebase has an evening of international Hip Hop in store for you at @fixy.groningen. The program will be headlined by the technically gifted New Zealand-based rapper @mazbouq and will feature performances and DJ sets from @deejayirie and more.

Stemming from his background in classical music, heavy metal and West African Highlife, Mazbou Q's music pushes the boundaries of Hip Hop and captivates those with a deep appreciation for musicality. Taking inspiration from the likes of Fela Kuti, The Roots and Black Star, his lyrics are socially conscious and explore his unique cultural identity. Mazbou Q is also well-known for his detailed breakdowns of rap flows on social media.

Details about the full program will be announced in the coming weeks.

This event closes off the 2026 European Hip Hop Studies Conference: “Things Done Changed: Hip Hop Futures for a World on Fire”, which takes place in Groningen from March 18-21, 2026 (@thingsdonechanged050).
