Vancouver! Next week I’ll be speaking at a Screen Composers Guild live event alongside some talented Canadian composers. I’m told there will be vegan pizza. Please check out the info below:
Stories Behind the Cue
Join us in Vancouver on 12 March
SCGC members are invited to a very special live event featuring Stories Behind the Cue, a curated panel of composers sharing insights into their creative process. From conversations with directors and producers to orchestration choices, and creative problem-solving, panelists will offer an inside look at how a score evolves from concept to final cue.
Caleb Chan will moderate an expert panel featuring Terry Frewer, Sorah Eun, Jordan Andrew, Red Janes, Marc Junker and David Parfit.
Tickets for the SCGC and other panels are free but numbers are limited so please book promptly!

Another spectacular time at the Victoria Film Festival! Great turnout for Barbara Hager’s Leaving Beringia and Brett Gaylor’s Field Notes from an Apocalypse. Also, I had the pleasure of being on a panel about how to get into the industry. One more weekend of films left!

Happy bandcamp Friday! It warms my heart to finally share this soundtrack with the help of Cloudrise Pictures Ltd. We decided to release this music (which was actually originally recorded in 2018) as a digital release to cap off the year—and also offer it as a CD package (which contains some cool liner notes and behind-the-scenes photos). If you are curious about the film, it is the first iteration of a series of animated movies made by Denver Jackson at Cloudrise Pictures. The most recent film (The Worlds Divide) is what we won the most recent awards (Leo Award and CASMA Award) for the soundtrack and traveled to Annecy last year for. That movie is set in the same “universe” as this one! So this is kind of where it all started.
The soundtrack was quite an undertaking at the time and though I’ve progressed in skill and ability to work with players/scope of projects over the past 7 years... I really like how this one sounds. We were working with a choir and a chamber-sized ensemble in pieces and the soundtrack came out very interesting to me... big (in a small way). Also at the time, this was one of the biggest projects to-date that I had the pleasure of working on with David, so it was a really rewarding experience. Check the listing for all the details of the amazing folks involved in making it happen!
This is available as a digital purchase, or if you want something physical to hold in your hands, you can order a limited edition on CD, it’s a pre-order that is intended to ship out next month in January 2026. https://junker.bandcamp.com#bandcampfriday #composer #esluna #music #chambermusic

Had the honour of showing the brilliant Nettie Wild around the @monkeycinteractive Artcade with Scotty and Nicole (📷) last night. I’ve been admiring her work from afar for a long time and it was pretty great to meet irl 💙

Won a CASMA for Best Original Score (Narrative Feature Film) for The Worlds Divide. Huge thanks to SCGC for the honour. Thank you Orchestra Tools for the amazing prize! HUGE thanks to the WD kickstarter backers. And, obviously, the most heartfelt thanks to Denver Jackson himself for making the movie. He keeps pushing his own limits and also keeps helping get me out of my comfort zone, making me a better composer every time. The journey has been a real one ❤️. And working with David too for nearly 10 years on movies/shows has molded my path as a composer—he’s been an amazing collaborator, mentor, and a dear friend. Wouldn’t be here without a long and fruitful collaboration with him…really happy with the music we’ve created together over the years
Shoutouts:
-Denver for pouring his heart and soul into an amazing film @denver.jackson
-Screen Composers Guild of Canada for the award! @screencomposers
-SOCAN for making it all happen under the hood @socanmusic
-Creative BC for the post funding @creativebcs
-Nicole Sorochan for producing and helping get things done @nicolesorochan
-Alec/Geoff Rubay of Hollywood Soundcrafters for being absolute legends making the film and the score sound amazing (and ripping it up in Annecy) @soundcrafters_hollywood
-Chan Bros for cooking up an amazing action sequence cue
-Kaito Takeda for amazing copyist work and performance
-Erin Tinney / cascadia strings for beautiful string work
-Jessica Pickersgill on the vocals (and viola too) really making it unique
-Claire Coupland for vocals on the montage
-Charlie Lui on the dzi flute
-Vertical Studios for studio space on short notice with back to back sessions— Tom Donrzanski and Elise Lane for the amazing engineering!
-Orchestra Tools for amazing software 🤯 @orchestraltools
-Vanessa, Meg, and Mo for support—and my cat Dijon (RIP) who was along for the ride then 🧡
-my mom and dad (for making me listen to Enigma on hi-fi in my formative years)
I’m hitting character limit, we’ll add more folks and stuff in comments. It takes a village! #CASMAwards #composer #theworldsdivide #animation #scgc #creativebc #SOCAN

Heading to Toronto (Frog Town) for like one day to attend the CASMA award ceremony with @deepaaaar ! Hoping THE WORLDS DIVIDE can snag another award under its belt! I’m NOT taking recommendations! No time for that 🖖 #composer #casma #scgc

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
