Out now: Hone Sound - Original EP (DEFR022). The Copenhagen duo’s contribution to footworkjungle builds on emerging slowfast sounds from 2012, as well as atmospheric breakbeat science from the 90s. Hone Sound adding offbeat dub chords and wide synth pads to meticulously crafted beats and breaks. While ‚Want U‘ and ‚Original‘ are centrepieces for jungle and hybrid bass club environments, ‚Indigo‘ might be a treat for those who like to blend it with classic footwork and juke tracks. Hone Sound conclude their debut EP for Defrostatica with ‚Lockdown‘, a haunting ode to solitude at 134 BPM.

@defrostatica sets a bold start for 2026, with their first release of the year from Copenhagen duo @hone.sound.

The title track ‘Original’ welcomes you with warm chords, accompanied by echoing sprinkles of dub influences, and slowly opens up to a certified hybrid roller.
juggling with patterns and elements, it displays a boundlessness, reminiscent of the ‘golden days’, when Footwork first gained more global attention in the early 2010s.

Rob’s vision, to fully cover the 3 pillars of footwork, jungle and breaks with this release, can be truly felt on this one.
