‘oritur et occidit’ by @derekbruno
A large-scale color composition rendered through optical mixing; this work merges a four-channel halftone process with organic forms derived from five tree species originally planted in Atlanta’s Piedmont Park which is site adjacent + the primary vantage from the buildings community balconies. The compositions expansive field of color was divided into a grid, where each cell’s location + CMYK values determined the curve, scale, and rotation generated by a parametric script. The outputs of each channel were then combined, producing a softly blended image at a distance while revealing 480 distinct graphic patterns when viewed up close.

Christopher Derek Bruno focuses on translucent media, incorporating CAD, model-making, printmaking, and CNC production to create abstract compositions that explore color and light. What began as a constraint, limiting his palette to the three primary colors cyan, magenta, and yellow, soon became a catalyst for discovery, revealing the subtle and powerful interplay between these hues.
Bruno draws a direct parallel between his work and the experience of watching a sunset, both demand presence, patience, and attentiveness. In his practice, individual perception plays a crucial role; the work does not reveal itself all at once. It is through the viewer’s willingness to slow down, look closely, and engage with nuance and shift that the work is fully realized, completed through the participatory act ofwhat he calls “intentional viewership.”
This is the final week to see his exhibition, if/then/yes/and. On view through Saturday, June 28, 2025. Be sure to stop by the gallery before it closes!

Beginning with watercolor studies, Bruno pulls sections from the compositions he finds appealing, then digitally recreates those elements. Using translation software of his own design, he then extrapolates data that can be used in a complex, layered print onto PET film. Once installed, the light passing through the material casts vibrant, color-filled shadows that gently rest on the wall. These shadows play off each other and the surrounding space, creating the subtle impression of volume within the work.
Like most artwork, these pieces are best experienced in person. We encourage everyone to visit the gallery to see these quiet, mysterious pieces.

To accomplish the PLANNAR STUDY and INCIDENTAL WORK, Christopher Derek Bruno is reliant upon his formal training in industrial design paired with empirical research techniques; the use of rapid prototyping, CAD, technical drawings, model making and building full scale iterations through CNC production.
Bruno’s work has been exhibited in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Miami, and his hometown of Atlanta, among other cities. He has also exhibited internationally, including in London, Berlin, Hamburg, Rome, and Moscow, along with a series of site-specific installations in the Azores.

IF / THEN / YES / AND
@gregkuceragallery , Seattle WA
Public Reception June 5th + Artist Talks on the 7th @ noon
The title of Bruno’s current exhibition, ‘if/then/yes/and’, draws from both logic and improvisation, referencing systems of response that are rule-based rather than evaluative. “if/then” reflects a procedural structure common to both scientific inquiry and creative problem-solving. If one condition is met, then another follows. It’s a method of building, of remaining in the question, of iterating toward insight. In improvisation, “yes/and” is a principle of agreement and expansion, acknowledging what’s given and adding to it with intention. Together, these frameworks form a call-and-response system grounded not in subjectivity, but in constructive participation, enabling a world where patterns, values, and visual data can be examined, broken down, and reassembled.

Brunoʼs current investigations focus on translucent media, examining their material and volumetric properties. Expanding on his established vocabulary of low-relief sculpture, these studies work in developing the foundation for free-standing installations + large-scale architectural integrations. Working within the framework of print traditions, Bruno investigates the production and perception of color, leveraging the precision of emerging digital processes to surpass the limitations found in the practiced hand. His color-based compositions are achieved through parametric modeling; where scale / shape / density are systematically articulated in order to affect the translation of images into the subtractive color model found in process printing. This approach has introduced new layers of flexibility + control, allowing for dynamic interplay between structure + abstraction; advancing his exploration of the image as both a perceptual and material phenomenon. By harnessing light as both subject and medium, this work explores its transient, physical, and experiential potential.

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles.
