I had a little time after grading my students finals on Friday to record some #daxophone with the fancy studio gear, so I did. In this video I’m just playing simple #voice and easy #melody lot of people have been asking me to record more simple daxophone technique videos, so I’m trying to get around to it. Yes you can hear how different the #wood species sounds! A little compression goes a long way but the real mvp is the pultec for that classic assymetrical bass boost/cut trick. #experimental music 4 ever, long live the avant garde!

🌸 Step into “Sakura: A Season of Becoming” at the Romanian Cultural Institute New York — a group exhibition reimagining the symbolism of cherry blossoms through a contemporary, transnational lens.

🌿 Inspired by the Japanese tradition of sakura, the exhibition unfolds around themes of impermanence, renewal, and transformation, inviting reflection across cultures, disciplines, and lived experiences.

🎧 Daniel Fishkin (USA) explores the poetics of sound and listening through experimental instruments and compositions shaped by his research into hearing and perception.
🧵 Eva Petrič (Slovenia) creates multidisciplinary works that weave together photography, installation, and performance, reflecting on interconnectedness across spaces and cultures.
🌅 Georgette Sinclair (Romania/USA) transforms landscapes and everyday scenes into luminous, poetic reflections on light, memory, and the natural world.
🌀 Junko Yoda (Japan/USA) presents layered, tactile paintings that merge washi and acrylic, shaped by personal and historical memory.
💡 Kiichiro Adachi (Japan/USA) constructs immersive light environments that examine the interplay between nature, technology, and perception.
🌱 Maia Ștefana Oprea (Romania) engages with themes of regeneration and human–nature relationships through a multidisciplinary, research-driven practice.

🌍 Alongside works by Mariko Fujimoto (Japan), Nicole Cohen (USA), Paul O’Malley (Ireland), Sophia Chizuko (Japan), and Sorin Scurtulescu (Romania), the exhibition spans painting, installation, video, textile, sound, and photography — each piece capturing a fleeting yet resonant moment of becoming.
