A script to screen comparison of the short film, Killing Anann

From #scripttoscreen #killinganann

Starting out of s desire to just tell a good story as simple and efficient as possible, here is a case where stock footage courtesy of Big Stock came in perfect handy to help heighten the scene we shot in only four hours, two camera a microphone (which we had to re-record any way because of the rain) and a couple lights. No matter the VFX, explosions, car chases, etc, etc, it comes back to the wants and needs and how can we visualize the lengths to which we can explore them. The beauty in this is how the words are powerful, exacting and direct, acting as the platform from which Sara and David took a daring, draining and fearless leap. Drenched, their performances only grew with the artificial downpour. Observe how the words must be on the page for the actors to play, but once they take the stage, step back, work on your blocking, place your cameras strategically and cinematically and let their performances unfold. The words written are not gospel, but a guide. How the actors move through is based on what they bring to it, how they respond to the environment around them and stay in the moment of the stakes provided them. .

Technically a repost from a few years ago, but I wanted to give this pic some more love for the PUNISHER SPECIAL TODAY!! I’m especially excited to see @jasonmoore as my boy Curtis!! I spent two seasons being absolutely STRESSED for that man’s life so what’s another hour or so? 😂

HAPPY DAREDEVIL BORN AGAIN SEASON TWO DAY!!! Yes, my suit is on backwards in this pic and I’m holding the Billy clubs outside down; but obviously, that’s totally a metaphor for how upside down the world is turning on Matt Murdock in this newest season, and definitely isn’t because I wasn’t paying attention when I got ready for the day the morning I took this photo. REGARDLESS! I’m so freaking excited for this season and to see what the creative team and the whole cast has cooked up!! It’s gonna be amazing, I just know it! Congratulations to the whole cast and crew. I couldn’t be more seated. (📸: @directorgpayton )

Where do directors go to practice their craft?

The LA Director’s Lab isn’t school or class, it’s a gym. To put in the reps. To get stronger at the craft of directing.

Typically directors are usually the ones with the least amount of reps and on-set hours than everyone else. But we are expected to lead the way on set. A confident director leads and that confidence is built by repeating the process of actually directing.

Feeling the pressure to finish on time. To work with actors and a DP & establishing that connection. To finish a project in record time & to also watch it on the big screen.

We as directors need this, in repetition. Direct, rinse, repeat. That’s what we do here at the lab.

Take it from these folks:
@robertflowerstv
@emmyloudiaz
@directorgpayton
@freshfreckles
@shayphox

Come join us for the next one! 🎬

Another episode of “I NEVER POSTED THIS?!” starring this picture from Wondercon 2023 (🫠) that @directorgpayton took. This was back when I didn’t have billy clubs or a proper helmet. I think my “Billy clubs” in this was some kind of camera equipment that Greg had. ANYWAY! Enjoy the throwback! I need to take more cosplay pictures.

Introducing Group 1 from our Medical Procedural Workshop 2!

Director @directorgpayton
Actor @kanashimanuki
Actor @kristeenieee
Actor @omar_munoz_la
DP @marleymaitlanddp
Writer @latinadirector

Director Greg: “As a Director, I wanted to understand the energy and pacing necessary to capture the speed, coverage, emotion, intent and authenticity necessary for medical dramas and comedies. This workshop not only gave me an inside immersion into the process, but the greater confidence to execute the emotional, technical and cinematic beats necessary for a great scene.“

Actor Kana: “As an actor who has only worked on set as background, this workshop was fundamental for me to get a more clear idea and feeling of working on set as a principal actor. After this workshop, I absolutely feel more prepared and confident to work in the space of the set and have a better understanding of bringing a show to life.”

Actor Kristeen: “As an actor in the Medical Procedural Workshop, I truly have not had a better experience! This was SO worth my time, effort and money. This is set up like a real production set, scripts and groups distributed and call times are accordingly. If you’re looking to find a community, experience a real set, and get footage - THIS IS THE PLACE TO DO IT. Pam is a wonderful mentor and communicator and I cannot recommend this enough.”

Actor Omar: “As an actor it’s always important to continue practicing and working on your craft. This is my third time taking the workshops and every time I come out a better actor. For the medical procedural, it was fascinating to learn and educate myself, not only in the medical terminology but also in working with real hospital equipment and procedure. LA Director’s Lab provides all the tools and puts you in the environment to play, challenge yourself, improve and grow as an artist. Forever thankful and grateful for Pam and the LA Director’s Lab!“

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
