“Pictures” is a song we have been playing for a while already, tested and polished enough to finally release. It is our satirical take on the perpetual harassment of social media in our lives. A message against the tyranny of meaningless and empty content becoming new standards. Mocking the absurd and ugly narcissism filling the space.
For this release we were lucky enough to have on board two masters of electronic music who spoiled us with their craft.
First, minimal maestro Thomas Melchior @my_king_is_light , who made the song his own with his signature swing and sound, taking you to the minimal soulful church. Melchior always has a magic touch when it comes to remixes.
Then comes a remix from Rekids boss @radioslaveofc , who slowed down the tempo to deliver a hypnotic interpretation of “Pictures” that builds constantly over the nine minutes. His version is funky and bright, with a heavy low end to make you dance.
As we always like to add a surprise, we brought in French composer @mim.audio creator of the Lafayette Street Studio, who has collaborated with major artists such as Rosalía and Pharrell. MiM delivers a bass interpretation of the song, leaving the four by four behind and blending electronic textures with organic sounds. Raw energy straight in the face.

dOP (@dop.live) no es un acto de DJ típico. Son Damien y JAW, dos franceses que se conocieron en la escena hip-hop de París a mediados de los 2000 y decidieron romper con todo lo que conocían. Dejaron atrás las bases y los samples para meterse de lleno en la electrónica, pero se llevaron algo que casi nadie tiene en una cabina: las vocales. Sus sets son en vivo, con voces que aparecen y desaparecen sobre capas de house y techno que no suenan a nada predecible.
Ese camino los llevó de los clubes más sudados de París al corazón del underground de Berlín, donde encontraron su hogar artístico. Desde ahí empezaron a soltar música en sellos de peso y a llamar la atención de productores como Agoria, Âme, DJ Koze, Acid Pauli y Claude VonStroke, que remixaron sus tracks. Hoy tienen su propio sello, dOP Only, dedicado exclusivamente a su música, con 21 lanzamientos encima.
