‘What question did the line that you last drew ask you’ is a development on my long-term collaboration with Kate Stevenson and Chris White from Dot Dot Pop Up – Kate, Chris and the Pop Up team have developed a virtual platform for performance and exhibition which is simultaneously a game and chance for social encounter. Jeffrey Holdaway and I have collaborated on translating a series of art works exploring borders, poetics and artist maps into virtual worlds.
The site will be open for a few days from 4 June, with a live launch in the PSi constellate programme on June 4/ June 5 (depending on your timezone). For the launch Sweden-based dance artist pavleheidler and I will develop our expanded dance writing project, we’ll be working on completing our fourth book together in real time. We invite you to contribute to the book process through a live document, so it’s going to be a game of co-authorship. Do come along! It’s super easy to join, just click on the link and allow your camera to be on (you can cover it up as you wish). There are a bunch of digital art works comprising video, drawing, poetry, sound design and artist mapping – made in collaboration with Jeffrey Holdaway, pavleheidler, Jenny Roche, val smith, Máximo Corvalán-Pincheira and Francisco González Castro.

THE BURIED VILLAGE OF TE WAIROA // PREMIERE @sxswsydney XR SHOWCASE

In the 1800’s adventurers from around the world would journey by boat, cart and canoe to a remote lake in Aotearoa New Zealand to experience the Eighth Wonder of the World, pools of silica named the Pink and White Terraces. That is until one fateful night in 1886 when neighbouring Mount Tarawera erupted, burying the terraces and much of the community that had formed around it.

This virtual reality experience was created with the Museum of Te Wairoa - New Zealand's most visited archaeological site, where stories of the 1886 Mt Tarawera Eruption come to life. The virtual reality experience will debut at the museum later this year.

VOIDOPOLIS // Kat Mustatea

We created an augmented reality web app for VOIDOPOLIS, a first-of-its-kind AR book.

The book’s pages are garbled and can only be deciphered through the accompanying AR app—but over a period of months, these digital components decay the way memory might, leaving behind foggy imagery and half-remembered bits of language.

The first decay cycle has officially begun and will reset each year on the 1 July.

By @kmustatea
Book Design & Algorithmic decay by @process.studio
App by @dotdotstudio

Available from MIT Press Leonardo Series @mitpress @leonardoisast @penguinrandomhouse

Exhibited at ‘Dimensions: Digital Art Since 1859’ in Pittlerwerke, Leipzighello

Shortlisted for the @lumen_prize for Art & Technology

It's here! VOIDOPOLIS is a first-of-its-kind augmented reality book from MIT Press Leonardo Series @mitpress @leonardoisast @penguinrandomhouse. Born of algorithms and loss, the book decays its story much like a memory might, leaving behind foggy images and half-remembered bits of language.

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.

Advantages of Anonstories
