🎵 Who wants to sing some funky old hymns at the end of this month? 🎶

Come on down to @drifterstheater the last weekend of May for 2 days of shape note singing. We’ll sing from 10-3 on Saturday and Sunday, and you can drop in whenever, for as long as you like, donations accepted. Beginners are certainly welcome and may be particularly interested in an introductory workshop at 10 on Saturday. Pizza potluck at noon both days! 🍕

Also called Sacred Harp singing, shape notes were invented in the late 1700s as a way to teach people with no formal musical training how to read music, sing in four parts, and learn new tunes. A lot of the texts are Christian, but people of all faiths and no faiths are welcome. Religion aside, the sonic experience of these songs is like no other. Some say it’s the heavy metal of hymn singing, but you can make that call yourself on 5/30 & 5/31. 🤘

Hey every1 I'm having a record release show @drifterstheater in Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 11. @kenpomeroymusic is opening. This will be in a small room and tickets are definitely limited. So I would reccomend getting them as soon as humanely possible. Or I'll be really mad. But for real I would get them soon if you would like to be there. On April 18, I have the high esteem and pleasure of hosting a show with two innovators of Tulsa songwriting, Micaela Young and John Langdon. We will each perform a 30 minute set of music that, due to its adventurous nature, some would consider not-quite-folk music. The concert will be held at 7 PM at Drifters Theater, a magical newish listening venue opened by Dylan Aycock, overlooking Owen Park. //Ticket link in bio//

Come see a concert reading of David Blakely’s Pip & Fidget, a funny, big‑hearted original children’s musical that celebrates the abilities of ADHD children and their families. It follows two households raising ADHD kids as they navigate the complicated world of understanding ADHD children. Fidget is a creative musician whose imagination never stops moving, and Pip, a hyper focused chess champion with a mind built for strategy. Pip & Fidget reminds families that ADHD doesn’t mean broken — it means extraordinary.
This event should appeal to ADHD children (and adults), their families and friends, and behavior professionals.

A fast, funny musical that shows why ADHD strengths matter.

Back in business! The Hayden Pedigo show is back on - March 21st. This post is to alert all the folks who bought tickets for the original date so they can hopefully make it to the rescheduled concert. If you can’t make the 21st send us a message here. Update!! Walt McClements will be opening the night. Walt is an accordionist based in Los Angeles. His solo compositions focus on processed accordion creating beautiful emotional meditations. He has a recent duo record with harpist Mary Lattimore and was a touring member of Weyes Blood, Hurray for the Riff Raff and Dark Dark Dark. Gonna be a great show, hope everyone with a ticket already is available March 21st!!
