I love to play along to my favorite records where there was clearly no click involved. You have no choice but to open your ears as wide as you can and follow with every detail- feeling the sway, the imperfections, push and pull, and the phrases instead of relying on quarter notes or something. The upright playing on this track is so undeniably incredible - holding everything together with the perfect pocket between a huge ensemble and Louis. Also one of my favorite songs - but his arrangement cuts me to my core.
