Attending this inaugural #prideinourparks LGBTQ+ day in the @mammothcavenps was hands down the most impactful pride event I have experienced!
@kristen_aplin and I were able to recruit @ae_muri28 to come with us at the last minute, and all three of us had a blast! We made lots of new friends, turned the world’s longest known cave into the gayest known cave, and wandered through the woods in our colorful #PrideinOurParks shirts proudly waving our pride and trans flags about.
Celebrating pride month in the park felt liberating as everyone was welcoming during a time in the world that sometimes feels scary to be LGBTQ+, especially in the south. We even got a shout out from our ranger thanking us for being part of her tour that day. It was heartfelt, and you could tell it really meant a lot for her to be able to show her support while doing something she loves. It meant a lot to us too! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🏳️⚧️🤎🖤
Shout outs: @vanesspius you made this inaugural #PrideinOurParks event seem like you had organized many before. Thank you for bringing your passion project to reality! The future events will be thoroughly enjoyed by many, many more! We made history together, and it went off without a hitch!
