@locarnoopendoors (August 5 - 10. 2026), @filmfestlocarno’s co-production platform and talent development programme for filmmakers from equity-seeking communities and regions where artistic expression is at risk, announces its selection for 2026!

Now in its second year of a four-edition cycle dedicated to 42 countries in Africa, Open Doors presents its Projects, Producers, and Directors programmes, bringing together a generation of filmmakers whose work spans fiction, documentary, and animation across more than ten countries.

💥New this year, EAVE and @filmfundlux will offer a scholarship for the EAVE Marketing Workshop, worth EUR 4,000!

🎥 Directed by 3x Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Habiba Nosheen, THE GYMNASTS OF FISHERMAN COLONY is a coming-of-age documentary from Pakistan where joy, ambition, and quiet rebellion take root as three teenage girls carve out space for themselves, one somersault at a time.

ACCESS is a programme for BIPOC producers from Canada presented by EAVE and the National Screen Institute - Canada (NSI) in partnership with Canada Media Fund.

Don’t miss your chance to apply to the third edition of the Arab Producers Lab, an immersive program designed for Jordanian and Arab producers and directors working on their first or second narrative feature film.

The Lab explores the relationship between producers, scripts, writers, and directors, providing participants with practical tools and specialized knowledge to develop their projects and build production and marketing strategies that can reach local, regional, and international audiences.
