Alongside wildlife filmmaking I also frequently enjoy making watersports images. A couple of months ago I got to visit Mauritius during a shoot for the new Naish range of kites and wings. And oh boy did we score some epic conditions! Join us in this celebration of being in the turbulent water of Mauritius all day.

The island is a magical place. We stayed at @loukazstudiosmauritius (💯 recommend) and could almost roll out of bed into the insane ‘One Eye’ wave. Swimming with the water housing for the low angle and droning high above for the birds eye view: it was a treat for sure.

This is a highlight reel of some of the footage we scored. I had to sit on these shots for a while: All the products in them have only just now been launched, meaning I can finally share them. Lots more are coming in the next couple of weeks 🤙🏽

You’re looking at my 2025 Wildlife Showreel. Recently I have been sorting out some of my archive footage for a client. And while I was at it anyway, I puzzled together this short showreel with some of my favorite Dutch wildlife moments. There is more to see in our little country than you’d think!

It’s not a flashy edit as one would usually make for Instagram so it will probably not score a lot of views - I couldn’t care less though ☺️

I finally got the whole sequence 🤩 The speed of these birds is insane. This is shot in 100fps, and slowed 4 times. Once they’ve spotted their prey, it’s game over for the fish.

In the underwater shot you can see how they use their own airbubbles to rise back up to the surface. Once they get out of the water they need all their strength to start flying again!

And did you know they have special lenses in their eye to be able to fish accurately from above? These lenses compensate for the changes in the angle of the light waves, when passing through the surface of the water.
