@tomskinnermusic’s new album Kaleidoscopic Visions is out now in the physical and digital realms! It’s been out for a few weeks now but the reason I haven’t posted about it until now (I’m trying to avoid social media distraction as much as possible atm) should not be seen as an indication of my feelings for this album because I BLOODY LOVE THIS ALBUM SO MUCH! Tom is one of my oldest and dearest friends and a musician I hold in the highest esteem. Even though he is a few years younger than me, he has, since he was 12, been a guiding light, teaching me, showing me the way, broadening my perspective on what is possible. It is no mistake that his new album is called Kaleidoscopic Visions. His vision truly is kaleidoscopic. I’m so proud to be a part of the brilliant and beautiful crew of people who helped realise this vision. Please take the time to listen and support this album. It is beautiful. If you are moved by it please buy it. ❤️

Do the audio and video appear to be in sync to you? I can't tell if something funny happens when I upload the videos because of the codec I'm exporting at or something like that...
Please tell us if it looks like it's in sync or not!
Ok now that that's out of the way - this is a little clip from the live-in-the-studio video recording of our next Lophae tune 'Imagine More'.
This tune is out on streaming platforms this Friday 3rd October, which is also the day that the whole album will be available to buy on @bandcamp and which also happens to be Bandcamp Friday!
There's a pre-save link for the streaming services in my (Greg's) bio.
And you can join us tomorrow (Thurs 2nd Oct) for a couple of back-to-back Bandcamp listening parties of the two albums - Perfect Strangers at 5pm UK time, Imagine More at 6pm UK time.

'What We Were Waiting For' is out today!
To me, one of the most special and amazing things about playing music in real life, live in the room with other musicians, is the way the personalities, ideas and decisions of every person playing inevitably make their way into the music, even if no-one is trying to "put their stamp" on it.
It's as if on top of the tune, the song, the lead sheet, a second composition is created, which is something ephemeral that only truly exists when that particular combination of people are playing their versions of the parts, with their particular variations.
The composition only exists dispersed in the memories and hands of each player, and can only be heard when those players come together, and fit their memories together like a jigsaw puzzle!
I always think of the @talkingheadsofficial
'Stop Making Sense' film, and how those versions of the songs are separate, and amazing, versions of the album versions of the songs, that could only exists when brought into being by that combination of musicians!
In acknowledgement of that - I've got to give a little shout out to @willharrismusic who came up with such sweet and lovely bass lines when we were playing this tune during my MA at @royalacademyofmusic
I transcribed Will's basslines and kept them in the tune, and they're interpreted so gorgeously in this recording by @electrobeard
'What We Were Waiting For' is the 3rd song from our upcoming second album 'Imagine More', which is out on October 3rd and can be pre-ordered on @bandcamp . (Today happens to be Bandcamp Friday...)

1/3: Sarah Jarman's stunning artwork image for Another You, which is out today! (1st August 2025). Such an unbelievably gorgeous image.
2/3: I have no idea what Sam said here to get this reaction from all of us. Suggestions?
3/3: A fresh off the press copy of our upcoming 2nd LP 'Imagine More', pressed by the AMAZING @seabassvinyl .
Modelled by mastering engineer @casparsj
Sea Bass are so lovely and easy to work with and the records sound ridonkulous.
The album is out 3rd October, if you're an own the record type person, you can pre-order it already at @bandcamp
Another You was the first tune we recorded on the first day of the three that resulted in Perfect Strangers and Imagine More.
I wanted us to play something 'easy' (!?) so we could warm up and get into playing gradually.
It's a tune that I wrote back in 2013, but it's never been recorded until now.
I've tried to play it many different ways over the years, there was a kind of Cuban rumba type groove on it at one point. But I really like this version, with these kind of weird slightly glitchy organ drum machine drum loops that I added afterwards at home.
We didn't record the tune to a click, so I had a fun time making a tempo map of our recording and then getting this weird organ drum loop I had programmed to loop over the whole tune.
It also has some extra lush Tom Herbert bass action right up top... and some wide & woozy @walrusaudioeffects Julianna action on the guitar.
Recorded & mixed by @nostalgia___77
Mastered by @casparsj
As for the name of the song... any guesses?
