Today is the awesome @agal81 birthday!
Throughout the existence of @endation we’ve struggled finding a bassist. The piece we needed took a long time to arrive but we’re much better having this awesome person with us. Always prepared, makes great choices, voices great opinions, open to ideas, books shows, shows up on time, and tolerates our craziness. We’re lucky to have such an amazing bandmate!
You’d never know that @penelope_alizarin is nearly a foot taller, @agal81’s presence and excellence more than makes up for the height difference.

We’re throwing a massive release party that night at @obrienspubboston and are super stoked to have @chainlacing, @_gloomlurker, and @miraclebloodmusic joining us on the bill. “In recent years, singer-guitarist Penelope Alizarin Conley has been one of Worcester’s most prolific musicians, both solo and with the Boston-based trio Endation, which she fronts.
She hasn’t missed a beat, and right now, Endation is teasing their upcoming album ‘The Presence of Nothing’ with the new single ‘Carry Me,’ released at the end of February.
The track hits the ground sprinting with a blast from Conley’s guitar and Matt Graber’s drums, then settles into a slower half-time stride with chiming chords and a chugging beat.
‘Barely asleep, I feel as though your ghost is haunting me,’ Conley sings. ‘So afraid … I shut my eyes so I don’t have to see/My soul begins to shake/I’m awake, but would you carry me?’
At the end of the second chorus, Conley howls, ‘I know that you are weak, so do it carefully,’ and then the full-steam-ahead sprint from the beginning of the track comes back in for a few bars before Graber and bassist Amy Jee change up their rhythm and the chorus returns, over and over and over.
‘The Presence of Nothing’ arrives May 16, and though Endation has released singles ‘Mirrors,’ ‘Simple Needs,’ and ‘Alms’ in the past few years, it will be their first full-length album since 2021’s ‘Ultra Chromatic Bitter Bliss.’
