Please Note: The below typed information is derived from years of experience dealing with Equine Gastric Ulcer Syndrome, as well as a recent seminar we attended at South Valley Equine in Utah put on by Boehringer Ingelheim with Dr Trent Bliss as the instructor. Boehringer Ingelheim are the makers of the FDA product called Ulcer Guard. Dr Bliss agrees that there is no final cure for Ulcers. It’s a management thing we will always deal with.

Educational information below! 

✳️ Equine acid secretion can occur 24 hrs a day!
✳️ Your horse can make up to 16 gallons of Acid per day!
✳️ Buffered by food & saliva, up to 15 gallons of Acid per day!

🔶 Grazing Horses chew approx 60,000 times/day
🔶1000 pound horse at 1.5% BW hay: 15 pounds = 25,500 chews!
🔶 6 pounds grain = 2,550 chews +25,500 (hay) equals 28,050 chews 
🔶 12 pounds grain equals 5,100 chews + 25,500 (hay) equals 30,600 chews

🔶🔶 Moral? … The more chews the better!

🔷 WHEN TREATING ULCERS 🔷 It’s a must that the STOMACH pH BE RAISED HIGHER THAN A 5 TO OVERCOME GASTRIC ULCERS! To much acid keeps the pH level at a 5 or lower, meaning Ulcers can never heal.

🔷 Perfect Neutral pH is 7.2 to 7.4
🔷 NeutraBac pH raises the pH level up when acid is present!
