When Jax was one year old he went to Croatia and brought back someone special - Jax’s new Mom Megan. The three moved in together in MDR and shared an apartment by the water with lots of native bunnies to chase.
They explored together a lot - summers at Oregon coast, winter snow in Mammoth, camping at lake Shasta, fishing Catalina, but never swimming pools because Jax was terrified of water. Everyone loved to cuddle on a giant comfy couch when they got home.
Later Jax got her own back yard in Redondo and they made a new home together. One day Jax became a big sister to a girl named Kit who loves puppies. The family grew into a bigger home with real grass and comfy double dog beds, Jax was tucked in with her blanket and pillows every night.
Last weekend we had to say goodbye to Jax 😢. She lived a long healthy life of 11 years or 100 Great Dane years as the vet said. Although she was sweet as ever her legs had finally given up. I wish we had 100 more with her, this is a devastating loss. It helps to reflect on our story, I’m so thankful for our time together and special bond. We will love her forever.
