The past two years working on the McLaren Formula One x eBay partnership has been a dream. I’ve had the privilege of leading creative across campaigns, content, and activations, but the highlight so far was stepping in as ECD and Director on The Race Before The Race.

When I get to direct docu-style films, I lean all the way in. I care about representing culture and talent in a way that feels honest and unexpected. Pushing the visual craft. Letting sound design breathe. Using camera language that makes it come alive.

As many of you know, my heritage is Jamaican, and music has always been deeply rooted in my life. I often think of musicians as modern day prophets, delivering messages that shape our values, awaken our spirits, and remind us of our responsibility to one another through love and connection.

Today is a special day. It is the birthday of Robert Nesta Marley, also known as Bob Marley, and it is also my dad’s birthday. Two of the most important and influential people in my life, born on the same day. My dad introduced me to Bob’s music from day one, and those messages flow through who I am and how I move through the world.

When I worked on the Marley Natural brand, I had the opportunity to collaborate with his longtime partner and the official art director of all his albums, tours, and merchandise, Neville Garrick. The first time we connected was at The Roxy in LA, where we watched Stephen Marley perform a tribute concert for his father. Neville taught me so much about how he approached photography, art direction, and conceptual thinking. That night, Neville walked me through how he art directed Bob’s very first show at The Roxy. I was able to learn from a true legend before he passed away in 2023, and I am forever grateful for that experience.

Bob’s music did more than make us dance. It inspired movements around the world to stand up for what people believe in and to challenge oppression in all its forms. Get Up, Stand Up became a rallying cry for those fighting for their rights across countries and generations, alongside so many other timeless songs that continue to carry truth and purpose.

During Black History Month, I want to take a moment to honor this legend. If you have not seen his documentaries, I encourage you to watch them, to listen closely, and to truly hear what he was saying.

In the times we are living in, Bob’s voice can be the grounding we need. His message reminds us why we are here, how deeply connected we are, and that each and every one of us holds the power to create real and lasting change.

As many of you know, my heritage is Jamaican, and music has always been deeply rooted in my life. I often think of musicians as modern day prophets, delivering messages that shape our values, awaken our spirits, and remind us of our responsibility to one another through love and connection.

Today is a special day. It is the birthday of Robert Nesta Marley, also known as Bob Marley, and it is also my dad’s birthday. Two of the most important and influential people in my life, born on the same day. My dad introduced me to Bob’s music from day one, and those messages flow through who I am and how I move through the world.

When I worked on the Marley Natural brand, I had the opportunity to collaborate with his longtime partner and the official art director of all his albums, tours, and merchandise, Neville Garrick. The first time we connected was at The Roxy in LA, where we watched Stephen Marley perform a tribute concert for his father. Neville taught me so much about how he approached photography, art direction, and conceptual thinking. That night, Neville walked me through how he art directed Bob’s very first show at The Roxy. I was able to learn from a true legend before he passed away in 2023, and I am forever grateful for that experience.
