Applicants must have a sharp eye, strong organizational skills and the ability to problem solve in creative ways. Someone who genuinely loves crafting custom instruments and appreciates the little details even more so. Introducing the F Bass VI!

Over the years players have been asking us to make guitars again, well, this is how we build a guitar…as a bass.

There’s plenty of confusion surrounding this re-emerging classic as it occupies its own space between a guitar and a bass. While tuned EADGBE like a guitar, it’s tuned an octave down with heavier gauge strings and built upon a 30″ scale length.

Today marks a fresh milestone as we continue working towards environmental conservation and offsetting the lumber we’ve used for our basses over the years. ⁣⁣

If you ordered an F Bass this past year, you directly contributed 10 trees to our initiative (and 1 tree per F Bass accessory)!⁣ ⁣

Together we planted another 2,290 trees for 2025, with a total of ~12,227 to date via @onetreeplanted! We’re positively stoked to play our role in supporting farmers, restoring land, and investing in impact that will last for generations to come. None of this is possible without the support of our players, dealers and the F Bass team who have been working hard to fulfill orders.

Bass solo from my new single ‘MINERVA’

Even in my solo work, I don’t feel the need to do solos on every tune (actually I only do it on a few haha). I always put the piece of music first, so I don’t use it as a platform to show my chops. My first role is being an artist/composer, and then the bassist comes in third place.
So when I feel the song has the space or ‘calls’ for a bass solo, I try to develop something that fits the context of that specific piece — not just random phrasing over the changes. I want to have a conversation with the drums and the other layers of the tune to really create a part of the music, not just a showcase of technique. I’m not saying I do it right, but at least I try 🤣

On this one @marcominnemann did a PHENOMENAL job (as always), and luckily I decided to take a solo before @andre_nieri, ‘cause soloing after him would be really hard 🤣

Wrapped up bass recordings for my EP! 😄 Traveling with a compact setup, but every piece of gear worked flawlessly. Gear rundown:

Honestly, I’m super happy with the sound from this setup! It’s a HUGE honor and pleasure working with companies I’ve always dreamed of using. Massive thanks to each one for being part of my sound and music! (And for making it sound great!) If something sounds off, it’s 100% my fault 🤦🏻‍♂️😂

A closer look at F Bass artist Kyla Wright’s BN5!

Kyla (who has toured with the likes of @sabrinacarpenter @iamjojo @gwenstefani @janellemonae) wanted our quintessential ‘BN tone’ in a lightweight / tour friendly package.

So in contrast to our last post, this lightweight Olympic White BN5 clocked in at just 8lbs 13oz. This BN5 still delivers a beastly tone, but one that’s a little more nimble and light on its feet with beautiful resonance and a quick attack. We also opted for Gotoh Res-O-Lite tuners to ensure its balance was on point.

Some basses just hit a little different….like this Mac Ebony BN5 for @southshoremusic clocking in at a solid 9lbs 14oz. It was incredibly punchy, compressed in the best of ways, and balanced perfectly on a strap and in the seated position. While we do make lighter weight basses, there’s definitely some magic to be had in the 9.5 - 10lbs sweet spot.

Recording a breakdown and riff from one of my EP tracks! 😄 The breakdown goes 4/4 - 15/16 - 19/16 - 4/4 (Guitar and drums are VST for now, but two monsters will record it for the official release – promise! )🙏🏻

Fun fact: when writing this, I thought, “Might be cool to fill the spaces with percussive notes and build something solid between guitar and drums.” So I did, and I loved it. Then I picked up the bass to learn it... and completely regretted it 😂. But it sounded so good I kept at it, figuring out how to play the melodic and percussive notes without using my left hand for the percussive bits – had to keep it punchy and clear.

Here’s the snippet. Stupid idea, but I’m kinda glad I kept it 😂
