OUT TODAY: Finn Rees & SHOLTO - Love In Memory / Bluebell

A special and opportune collaboration between two of our favourite contemporary producers @finnrees and @sholtomusic. Through a mutual appreciation for each other’s music the duo began to chat and cooked up the idea to jam in the studio whilst Finn was over in the UK. ‘Love In Memory’ and ‘Bluebell’ are the product of those sessions. Two beautifully crafted pieces of cinematic brilliance that embody the joy and spark of two musicians playing together for the first time. With nods to greats such as Piero Piccioni, Piero Umiliani, and Henry Mancini, Finn and SHOLTO’s distinctive styles blend together in an effortless harmony.

Order now on 7” vinyl with the digital following on the 1st August.

This is the album I’ve always wanted to make and I’m incredibly happy it’s now out in the world.
From the journeys and experiences that made their way into melodies and songs, concepts and writing, improvising, arranging for many different instruments including strings, horns, harp, production, photography, artwork and design. I’ve poured a lot into it, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the loveliest and most talented people around. Huge thanks to EVERYONE involved and @mrbongoworldwide for believing in the project.

A moment to warm up in the Philharmonie dress room on this beautiful Steinway. So so grateful to have access to spaces that offer stillness, space for thoughts, music, peace, even if it’s just for a moment. Calmness comes from within, but I’m not gonna lie this view definitely helped 🌞😝
