No Championship story would be complete without the relays. The 4x800 saw Senior Paxton Reyes run an aggressive leadoff leg logging his best time of the season, setting us up for a fine 6th place. The 4x100 (one week removed from a school record!) survived an exchange scare to qualify for the final, where an inspired team of Gavin Monaco’26, Justin Barberan ‘26, Griffin Shea ‘26 and Remy Strain ‘26 clocked 43.44 for 4th place. And then the superb finale….Joshua Antelmi ‘26 has been a revelation this year, and led off in 50.5, Soph Chase Dinham ‘28 blazed a 49.7 in the rain, Zorion Narcisse-Brown ‘27 worked his way back from injury to a 50.05 carry and Kaiden Rusk brought it home, exactly 50 years since we last won the 4x400 at Outdoor States (1976: McConnell, Stadnik, Ficarra, Schutty).

2nd straight 400m title (to go with 2 straight indoor 300m titles and two relay titles!), 2nd fastest in Prep history, 2nd fastest in NY State this season (1st is Cameron Snyder, son of FP star Terrence Snyder ‘90!), leading the Rams to their 2nd straight outdoor title! But make no mistake, Kaiden Rusk is the number 1 long sprinter in the Metro Area.47.78!!! Outta sight!!!

What would we do without Coach Febles Sr’s hurdlers? Every year, the hurdle final seems to be covered in maroon and white. This year was no different, as seniors Chris Bustamante and Wyatt Zachery, and junior Ryan Malloy take places 2-4.Showing their versatility and irreplaceable value, each scored in their other event as well.9 points from the hurdlers, and 15 points overall from this talented trio. “No Barriers!”

The High Jump is the most unreliable event for a head coach trying to calculate points, but Aiden Schneeberg ‘26 and Naval Duran’26 have been locking in a reliable 10 points (1st and 2nd place!) for three years.Every Championship meet since sophomore year, Aiden and Naval have taken the top two spots. While Naval took the City title last week, Aiden won his third CHSAA State title yesterday, and the two seniors put the meet out of reach by getting the Rams to 30 points with still 6 events to go.

What a year for Coach Cahill’s vaulters.Always reliable scorers, Saturday was not the perfect day , but saw Tyler Williams ‘26 come up big in the clutch again, taking 2nd and earning a State Federation meet berth by virtue of his season PR 14’6”. Chris Bustamante ‘26 and Quinn Copps ‘27 medaled to add 8 huge points to the Prep total, and Sophs Julian Litman and Cheikh Camara displayed the consistency—on challenging conditions—that have made them Varsity-level performers all year. The 8 points from the PV put us in the lead—on which we’d build all day.Special congrats to Cahill team member Francesco Gjuraj of @ionapreptrackandfield for his State Catholic title
