This has been brewing for a while now and here we are. I recorded this mix about a year ago in anticipation of working with @skina.amsterdam on creating a sound experience at their (my favourite) café. Together with the legends at @kikuno_nl who kitted out the space with warm sound, we made this a reality.
The result is @rooomradio which is simply put a space to listen to music together. Sometimes we’ll be selling records too.
For now this will be happening most Sundays from 12-16, so go follow @rooomradio, check the schedule and swing by <3

Last but not least, on warm up duties this Sunday at @radioradio.radio our own @freddyvm aka Cactus Hand.
Freddy is former Pintai co-head and one half of Frico. He’s been throwing parties pretty much ever since he’s moved to Amsterdam over 4 years ago, gradually adding his own flavour to the local scene. His sound is wide and as far as the cliché allows ‘hard to categorize’ but ranges from the groovy corners of minimal, across house, all the way towards the more stripped back of the progressive side of things.

This Saturday, September 20th, we’re excited to be back at @phono.lake. We want to take the chance to introduce our guest to you a little more.

@ck__sounds is a producer, DJ and head of Safe distribution. We’ve been following him for a while now and feel ourselves continuously pulled in by his selections, whenever we hear him play. Both as a DJ and a producer, he manages to hold a balance of fun, bouncy with more melody driven, emotional tracks.

But words can only describe music, so we implore you to check out his latest mix ‘Current Material’ that just came out 2 days ago, consisting of 90% unreleased tracks. Also available as a cassette on Safe.

Now in Archive: House of Booo w/ @discosmovimiento The show hosted by @curaberlin & @shelly_booo_ is returning with guests: @frico.fresco

Back in August 24 @discosmovimiento hosted its first night at @ohmberlin this is the recording of @frico.fresco ‘s opening set where they set the tone of a very special night with class. A deep and groovy yet timeless selection of records with a clear nod to the sounds of the 90s and early 2000s mixed by the Amsterdam based duo.

Frico says, “People say there’s not much to Dutch cuisine and they’re not wrong at all but if you’re coming after bitterballen, we’re coming after you.”

Bitterballen happened to be the snack Freddy and Nico had when they hung out for the very first time, not long before Frico was born. In this way, Frico has something like a parent-child relationship with bitterballen, hence the significance. We hope you enjoy the tribute mix!
