Who better than Green-House (@green_house1976) to step inside the spiritual green room with (this time, @thelotradio) while in Brooklyn earlier this month.

Topics include their album art process, pre-show rituals, and inspiration for their new album, Hinterlands. Special thanks Cookie the sloth.

New signing, welcoming Green-House (@green_house1976) with Hinterlands (GI-464) on Ghostly LP/CD/Cassette.

As Green-House, musicians Olive Ardizoni and Michael Flanagan engage human nature and the natural world through joyous, dynamic synthesis.

Already deemed as contemporary greats with their ongoing collaborations with LA’s @leavingrecords , Green-House continues to refine their vivid instrumental songcraft with uncharted, genre-defying freedom and movement, a more active, percussive, and emotion-filled energy, marked by flowing bodies of sound and sweeping vistas. Hinterlands tunes into the beauty of the world with defiant, radical sincerity.

They welcome influences from all over; moments on Hinterlands evoke hypnagogic folk, tropical synth-pop, pan-flute mountain music, jazzy lounge, film scores, library sounds, and other forms of paradise-world-building. The duo simply makes the music they want to hear, earnestly dreaming of idyllic settings, their hope borne of necessity.

However, they give careful consideration to how ever-looming environmental and political anxiety may relate to the project. “There's freedom in music, not requiring nuance in order to share an emotion or a fantasy or a utopian ideal with others,” Ardizoni says. “I'm an anarchist and an artist. I don't have to explain that. I can just put the emotion in and hope that it can be used as a tool, to be comforting or inspiring for people.”

What remains inherent is an open sense of wonder, “the idea of legitimizing certain emotions within music that often aren’t taken seriously in art, like happiness and joy,” says Ardizoni.

X-Altera (@x_altera) emerged as yet another fully formed alias from Ghostly original Tadd Mullinix (@dabryebeats, JTC, etc) on a 2018 self-titled debut (GI-316). Born from a fit of rediscovery, the Ann Arbor-based producer reconnected with the jungle he produced in the late '90s as half of Soundmurderer & SK-1 (with Todd Osborn), revisited the forgotten B-sides of his drum & bass record collection, and fell back in love with the deep, melodic techno of Detroit and London. Artwork by @optigram.graphic.arts.

Warehouse find, last remaining copies on our site and @bandcamp. Catch X-Altera at @movementdetroit this year.

Our house font: Ghostly Gothic (GI-300) is a refined grotesque with a quiet edge, rooted in early sans-serif traditions and gently sharpened by the formal grace of copperplate influences.

Originally drawn by @michaelcina at the behest of Ghostly International, it was designed to carry both identity and atmosphere, adapting fluidly across evolving brand systems with a tone that’s steady, assured, and unmistakably present.

Ghostly Gothic is now available in five weights, with full support for Latin, Greek, and Cyrillic scripts from @publictype_us. publictype.us

BLACK CITY / MATTHEW DEAR
_
@ghostly
2010 Album
_
A founding artist of the innovative Ghostly International label, Matthew Dear met Sam Valenti IV at a college house party. His first release on Ghostly (a split 12” with the late Dave ‘Disco D’ Shayman) was also the label’s first outing.

His third album, Black City - mixing avant-pop, dance music, dystopian atmospherics and piano ballads - earned Best New Music from Pitchfork.

The haunting artwork - an abstract portrait of the artist in negative monochrome - is by regular Ghostly collaborator, NYC based designer Will Calcutt. This 10th anniversary version is pressed on lovely silvery clear vinyl.

In 2011, the label released a limited edition ‘physical addendum’ to the record. The MDBC Totem - created by Constantin & Laurene Boym of Boym Partners NY - is a sculptural representation of the themes of Black City. Each foreboding tower had a unique four digit number etched into it, which led users to a private web page where exclusive music could be heard.

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
