Gitman Vintage
American shirt makers since 1978

We cracked open the archive and rediscovered some of our favorite Madras fabrics from over the years. Starting today, our Madras Madness online MTO event brings together 18 hand-selected styles drawn from across the history of Gitman shirting. Some come from recent collections, while others have remained tucked away for a decade or more.
Each fabric reflects a distinct approach to color, pattern, and summer shirting, and many now exist in extremely limited quantities. In some cases, only enough fabric remains for one final shirt. Once these fabrics are gone, they’re gone for good. Needless to say, we wouldn’t recommend waiting.
Madras Madness is live on our website now until Sunday 5/10 at midnight EST. Git’ one on before they’re gone 👔

Introducing the Simple Jacket, Gitman Vintage extends its shirting expertise into tailored form, rooted in heritage references and exceptional cloths. Crafted from Marling & Evans® British wool cloths, these soft jackets are cut from all-season hopsack and plaid flannel weaves that deliver durability, wrinkle resistance, and a refined drape through specialized yarn construction. Designed as an unstructured, unlined sack jacket with timeless proportions, both the Navy Hopsack and the Division Road exclusive Charcoal & Chestnut Plaid Flannel versions offer tailoring that defines smart casual with understated class.
Our Camp shirt program continues with a Division Road exploration of textile design, drawing on both historical and contemporary sources. Two styles feature Alexander Girard reproduction designs in Italian poplins – Grey Small Squares and Brown Jacks – bringing a mid-century graphic sensibility into a modern context. At the same time, Japanese Jacquard Dobby Dot in Olive and Organic Cotton Voile Check in Brown offer texture-driven alternatives. Produced in limited runs, these fresh vintage shirts combine expressive fabric with Gitman’s legacy construction recipe, creating warm-weather staples that balance individuality with everyday wearability.

Our latest collaborative capsule with Alexander Girard, along with select favorites from past releases, is now live on our website. Centered around two prints from his Herman Miller years, this offering reflects a particularly strong moment in Girard’s work. Small Squares (1953) and Jacks (1961) appear here on clothing for the first time, each carefully recreated by our Italian partner mill to match the original designs. Neckwear has made a recent resurgence in our seasonal collections as our interests have evolved towards traditional, proper menswear. It only made sense, after all, as neckwear is a tradition that’s long been in our DNA. Not only are our shirts made to the same specs that were established when our company was founded in 1978, but our ties are equally storied. That is, we never “updated” their manufacturing techniques nor their design details.
A Gitman tie made today is nearly indistinguishable from one made 40 years ago. That’s somewhat unsurprising, however, when you consider how long our neckwear team has worked with us. The average current tenure on our tie-making team is more than 20 years, while some of our team members have been with us for more than 40. If 10,000 hours of practice make an expert, what do you call someone with 80,000?
That’s why, when you look closely, a Gitman tie is different. It’s hand-cut, hand-sewn, hand-rolled, and retains details that require years of experience to execute. Each bar-tack, for example, isn’t simply hand-sewn, it’s hand-crocheted, a technique necessitating painstakingly practiced dexterity.
We could go on about the reasons why our neckwear is unique in today’s menswear landscape, but the truth is, we simply feel both lucky and proud to carry on our tradition of craft. There are exceedingly few folks who have maintained a practice of hand-work, and even fewer who ever ventured to try it, but it’s an art form we refuse to give up. After all, it’s the only way we know how to do things.

A Brief History of Gitman Shirts — Our latest short film takes a look back to the first days of Gitman Bros., when Alfred and Sheldon Gitman started their eponymous brand and set out to design the perfect shirt. To this day, we continue to make our shirts with many of the same details and techniques. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right? Join us in celebrating a little bit of American shirt making heritage.

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
Keep track of Instagram updates discreetly while protecting your privacy and staying anonymous.
View profiles and photos anonymously with ease using the Private Profile Viewer.
This free tool allows you to view Instagram Stories anonymously, ensuring your activity remains hidden from the story uploader.
