Date Night with Salem + Giuseppe —Here’s what’s on their own personal menu this month:

“November and the autumnal ingredients inspire me to eat certain foods when I dine at Candor,” Giuseppe says. “All of our dishes are carefully thought through to reflect the season.”

To start…
“I like to kick off with an aperitif before dinner — a bright, radiant Dolce Vita made with Aperol, gin, fresh-pressed grapefruit, prosecco, and seltzer. The citrus aroma paired with the Aperol has such great balance. Alongside it, our Salumi & Cheese Board is the perfect start.”

Appetizers…
“For dinner this time of year, I like our Roasted Grape & Apple Salad — or the Prime Beef Carpaccio, prepared in the most authentic way with cold-pressed olive oil, lemon, wild arugula, and a snowfall of hand-grated Parmigiano.”

Entrées…
“My go-to dinner is our Fisherman’s Stew — red, brothy, salty, and spicy, with one pound of the freshest seafood. I pair it with the Capolemole, a white wine similar to Sancerre that we bring in from my hometown. Salem’s go-to is often our Orecchiette with Fennel Sausage and Broccolini — a hearty, colorful bowl of pasta that’s full of flavor.”

And, when he’s in the mood for red wine…
“Hands down, our Steak Frites is second to nobody. People drive to Candor from all over the county to enjoy it. It’s a prime skirt steak — very uncommon to find in a center cut like we do. The fries are crispy and golden brown, and I like to enjoy them with a little of our house chimichurri.”

To finish…
“I always end with chocolate — our Dark Chocolate Pot de Crème. Simple, rich, and just the right note to finish the evening.”
