There’s no better way to celebrate America’s 250th birthday than by getting out and exploring the stories, history, and natural beauty that make this country so special.

One thing we love most about RV travel is the freedom to slow down, take the scenic route, and experience places together as a family — all at our own pace.

We recently followed the Philadelphia RV-2-50 guide from @gorving and discovered some incredible places rich in American history.

We chose Philadelphia because, as a homeschooling family, we love learning through experiences and travel. Philadelphia was America’s first capital and the place where the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution were signed and where the Liberty Bell rang out as a symbol of freedom.

Some of our favorite places we explored included Old City & Independence Hall where we got to stand in the room where our nation’s founders debated and shaped the future of America made history come alive.

Walking down Elfreth’s Alley, America’s oldest continuously inhabited residential street, felt like stepping back in time.

Seeing the famous crack in The Liberty Bell and learning about how the bell became a symbol of liberty and equality was one of the highlights of the trip.

We also loved exploring Fort Mifflin, The Mütter Museum, The Museum of the American Revolution, and The Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum.

What we love most about RV travel is that after a full day of exploring and learning, we were able to go back to the RV and enjoy all the comforts of home (a full kitchen, beds for everyone in our family of 6, two bathrooms, and living area) while also getting to spend so much more time outside together fishing, biking, walking, playing, and soaking in the beauty around us.

Alena and I recently took a trip with @gorving out to the Ozarks of Northwest Arkansas, and as someone who had never experienced RV travel before, I was surprised by how easy the setup process was.

The RV was equipped with all kinds of amenities that brought the convenience of home with us, and the AC unit added a ton of comfort while camping in the humidity of the Ozarks. 🚐
