Ancient Wisdom, often holds layers of meaning that modern science is only beginning to explore. Whether driven by intuition, or a desire for sustainability, choosing natural fabrics dyed with plant based colors might offer benefits far beyond comfort and beauty…
By rethinking the materials we wear, we can align more closely with nature and perhaps even support our health in subtle, profound ways.

WHAT IS NATURAL DYES? And WHY should YOU CARE?
Greeninglines beautiful range of colors come from using various discarded plants, leaves and bark, no harmful chemicals are used and all runoff is completely organic.
Plant dyes have a different energy, and when you walk into a natural-dye-factory the smell is green, herbal - more like walking into wast fields, you can breath freely, not like chemical dye factories where your eyes tears up and you can’t breathe.
The chemical dye is the second most polluting industry of the fashion industry the other one is synthetic materials…
Parts of the collection is dyed completely by hand in Bali and the color is judged by eye, this can result in slight color variations or fading in areas where the natural color may not have taken to the fabric 100%. By embracing any small imperfections rather than sacrificing it for a superficially perfect product, together we are making a difference to our environment and our own wellbeing. There is no better feeling knowing your clothes are made sustainable for you and that you are making positive choices for our planet.

“The idea of Greeningline was about going toxic free from the materials to color, to packaging and everything else, or at least try my best”, Celia Ingesson, (founder of Greeningline)
After a successful career as a textile expert, designer and fashion executive – which required endless travel, sacrifice and shocking realities into the fashion industry, particularly around chemical dyes, (colors), textiles and labour practices, “it all became too much,” I had to pivot an start my own business. It’s “tiny”, but at least I try to share my knowledge and inspire others to make more informed decisions, whilst providing an alternative with Greeningline.
Thank you @johannagunnbergphotography for capturing me in the beautiful nature of Mallorca.

Why use organic sustainable materials if the Colors are Toxic?
Most fabrics in our clothes are highly processed with tons of chemicals, even when you buy organic. While the skincare and makeup industries have greatly profited from natural ingredients and chemical-free products, the fashion industry has never seemed to successfully transition into organic fabrics, natural dyes or chemical- free on any type of large scale. It begs the question as to why?

This International Women’s Day, I would like to highlight the injustice from an industry I’ve worked in from an early age - Clothing and Textiles industry. One of the world’s most Female-Dominated-sectors, yet Men are the ones who Profits…
Women constitute 60-90% of the global textile and garment workforce, yet they occupy the lowest-paid, least secure positions, while men dominate management and ownership, securing most of the profits.
Despite being the backbone of the industry, women often see their labor undervalued, stuck in a cycle where they create the product but don’t reap the financial benefits. Something I’ve personally witnessed, experienced and “revolted” against..
I ask You to Think Before You Buy from any fashion-giant the following;
Fast fashion, including athletic/ yoga wear exploits a predominantly female workforce (85% of garment workers) through low wages, unsafe, and often abusive conditions. It is a massive environmental polluter, utilizing toxic chemicals, synthetic textiles, and high water consumption. Supporting female-led, and authentic sustainable brands helps break this cycle of exploitation and environmental damage. Your Purchase holds Power…!
Thank you @johannagunnbergphotography for portrait.

Why Mallorca?
I often get asked - How I ended up in Mallorca?
My why is more accidental than deliberate. As a fashion-industry-veteran I’ve always lived in big cities, and haven’t really nurtured a dream of the Mediterranean lifestyle, but the pandemic drastically changed my life, and mindset, (like many of us). I founded my clothing-brand Greeningline based on sustainability, not only as a company but also for myself.I longed for a more mindful lifestyle including living closer to nature, in a milder climate, but still having a diverse group of friends and rich cultural offers to feed my creativity, (soul). In Mallorca I found the quality of life I was looking for in this “slower” phase of my life…

Why Linen is Costly, and Why it’s Worth the Investment!
Linen is considered a “luxury” textile because its production isn’t easily industrialized or modernized. From seed to harvest, linen takes roughly three months to be ready. In our modern world of fast-fashion most businesses don’t see linen as profitable.
It’s also Slow to Weave
The yarn is woven into fabric on looms running at a slower speeds compared to cotton to prevent the fibers from breaking. This Gentle Pace makes linen fabric a Symbol of the Slow Fashion Movement and Here is Why to Invest:
* Durability: It is 30% stronger than cotton and lasts for decades.
* Breathability: Hollow fibers allow air to circulate, keeping the You Cool in Summer and warm in winter.
* Becomes Better with Wear: It gets softer and more beautiful with each wash.
* Eco-Friendly: Requires fewer pesticides and water than cotton.
Investing in Linen Clothing isn’t just for one season, its for life…..

Do You feel the Natural Pull ?
I’ve always loved linen, both as clothing, bedding and for interior.
Linen is believed to foster balance, vitality, and a sense of calm, making it ideal for clothing.
Research suggests that linen resonates at approximately 5000Hz. This high frequency is thought to help boost the body’s energy, whereas synthetic fabrics (like polyester) have a very low frequency, (15Hz). To boost our Health with what You Wear might seem a bit “out there”. Or is it only Forgotten WISDOM?
Ancient Egypt used linen cloth to wrap the ill and wounded for its healing frequency. Same for India and the ancient science Ayurveda, / Ayurvastra (literally ”health cloth”), values natural, unprocessed, and skin-friendly Linen textiles. Often combined with indigo dyes for its antibacterial and healing properties. Many other roots, herbs and flowers were used to infuse textiles either as dyes, or woven into textiles or infused. As Our Skin is the Largest Organ, isn’t it time we take more care of What we Wear?

RAW LINEN, free from all NASTINESS
How does natural materials, like LINEN affect our HEALTH DIFFERENTLY from synthetic ones—for the MAKER and the WEARER?
Natural materials like linen offer significant health benefits for both the wearer and the maker, (factory workers), primarily through superior breathability, hypoallergenic properties, and a lack of toxic chemical finishes compared to synthetic alternatives like polyester or nylon. For the WEARER, linen promotes skin health, temperature regulation, and reduces exposure to microplastics.
For the MAKER, working with natural fibers reduces exposure to toxic chemicals used in synthetic fiber production, such as solvents and heavy metals.
SYNTHETIC MATERIALS are often treated with chemicals such as formaldehyde, PFAS (stain/water repellency), and azo dyes, which can cause skin irritation, headaches, or act as endocrine disruptors. Natural, UNTREATED LINEN is free from these “NASTINESS”.
Thank you @johannagunnbergphotography for capturing me wearing raw linen Artist Coat, Shirt and pants at the stunning nature surrounding @sonviscoshotel
