Introducing Dog Space Shelter 06 (DSS 06) - carefully created to meet the challenges of space, designed to sustain canine life beyond Earth.

Drawing on the space-age iconography of Verner Panton, Eero Aarnio, and NASA's lunar vehicles, @grimshawarch's DSS 06 pairs a repurposed aluminium and cast steel frame, repurposed from the Grimshaw designed Mabeg Profile One shelving system, with an in-house 3D-printed shell of repeating radial discs. Engineered for the extremes of the cosmos on the outside, but warm and plush within.

On display at the Goodwoof Festival [@goodwoofdogs] on the 16-17 May, the DSS 06 will be judged as part of the Barkitecture kennel design competition by Charles Gordon-Lennox, the Duke of Richmond with Kevin McCloud, and astronaut Tim Peake.

Continuing the @RIBA x @grimshaw.foundation Annual Art Lecture series is @jeremydeller, the creator of The Triumph of Art for the National Gallery's bicentenary celebrations in 2025. This year, he will be giving the lecture in conversation with broadcaster and writer @kunlebarker.

The lecture series supports the Foundation's central mission - elevating creativity as an essential skill for the future - creating opportunities for young people from diverse backgrounds to access the world of art, design, and architecture.

EcoPark South, part of the wider North London Heat and Power Project, has won at the @civictrustawards! The site won Highly Commended in the Large/Mixed Use Project category.

The project is the first phase of the @connectnlwa transformation of Edmonton EcoPark, creating a waste hub for two million residents from seven north London boroughs, as well as community engagement and education about waste and the circular economy. The judges described EcoPark South as demonstrating 'that infrastructure of this scale can be delivered with care, intelligence and social awareness'.

'Here, design plays a vital role: creating places that support long‑term learning, community interaction and environmental awareness, while demonstrating what a circular‑economy approach looks like in practice. It shows how the infrastructure we rely on every day can actively contribute to the sustainable, resilient cities of the future' said Kirsten Lees, Partner at @grimshawarch.

Grimshaw’s work in Cambridge was the subject of our latest London studio project tours, with our teams visiting 50/60 Station Road, @cambridgeuniversity Civil Engineering Building and the Whittle Laboratory that will be complete later in 2026.

Connecting each of these projects is the commitment from the city, university and @grimshawarch to buildings that integrate sustainable design as a driver, adopting principles of circular design, longevity, deconstruction and reuse as well as creating templates for buildings that enable innovation and accelerate research and development programmes.

The rain didn’t stop Grimshaw’s Neven Sidor, Ben Heath and Rob Waters sharing insights into the design of the three buildings. And thank you to the University of Cambridge Professor Robert Miller and Dr Pieter Desnerck for talking us through how design and engineering have come together to create buildings that fully support that embody and support their function.

This weekend @noidainternationalairport opened, located in Jewar, south-east of Delhi.

Designed by an international joint venture team - @nordicooa , @grimshawarch and @hapticarchitects - for Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL) the new airport will be a benchmark in sustainable terminal design and create a significant multi-modal hub for India. Responding to the climate and context, the passenger journey is also designed to connect travellers to the place creating nature enhanced spaces landside and airside where people gather and intuitively come together as they travel.

In its first phase, Noida International Airport, is expected to serve over 12 million passengers each year, connecting travellers to local, regional, and international destinations. The airport’s domestic and cargo terminals will be operational from Spring 2026, with the international terminal projected to complete in Autumn 2026. With completion of the second phase the airport will ultimately support over 30 million passengers.

Grimshaw has been appointed to redevelop the Armagh Observatory and Planetarium - a cornerstone of astronomical research - alongside @arupgroup and @toddarchitects.

The new planetarium will be a transformative cultural and educational anchor for Armagh - a landmark visitor attraction with immersive capabilities far beyond current standards, connecting it to the Observatory. By doubling visitor numbers, the new planetarium will drive growth for the city and region, opening up AOP's exceptional work to even more people.

'This redevelopment honours the site's architectural and scientific legacy, strengthening its standing as a global centre of excellence and supporting its journey toward UNESCO World Heritage status.'
