GROW, Hackney
Independent canalside venue in Hackney Wick with live music, DJs, art, great food & sustainable drinks. Supporting culture & community since 2014.
This Saturday 16/05, Tumbaito return home to lead a full night of groove, improvisation and connection, powered by band leader @williamscumberbache and his unmistakable percussion and a band that’s become part of the fabric of Grow over the years. Afro-Latin rhythms, jazz, funk and serious musicianship, built to dance.
Closing the night, @soundwayrecords' @paulajuana takes things deeper with a global club journey moving through cumbia, salsa, Afrobeat, highlife, zouk and beyond. One of the most respected selectors around.
@sunni.d__ opens with soulful global sounds, disco, Afro-boogie and house to set the tone properly from the start.
A perfectly curated evening of a full journey from live rhythm into late-night heat.
Very limited advance tickets on DICE, majority on the door for £10 and free before 9pm.
On the 4th June we mark a huge milestone for one of the longest running weekly sessions in Hackney Wick. Led by @kai_creative, @stratostheband’ Jazz Jam has been part of the rhythm of Grow for a decade, bringing musicians and listeners together week after week in our canalside venue.
What started in 2016 has slowly grown into a real community. A regular meeting point built through dedication, openness and a shared love of jazz in all its forms.
To celebrate, we’re inviting everyone back into the room. The night begins with a special outdoor live set from Stratos on the floating pontoon, featuring original material from the band. Then we open things up for the jam, welcoming back past members, regular players, familiar faces and anyone who’s been part of the journey along the way.
If you’ve ever played, listened, sat by the canal or found yourself caught in the magic of a Thursday night session at Grow, this one’s for you. Save the date, grab a ticket, book a table and come raise a glass with us to 10 years of community, dedication and outstanding music.
For our next DeepDig, we welcome @auntie_flo for a rare four hour extended set, with @katehutchinsonpow the dancefloor from the start.
DeepDig is about time and trust. Letting a selector stretch out. Letting the dancefloor unfold slowly. Two extended journeys. Seven hours of sound. A space to listen deeply and move freely.
Described by The Guardian as “taking world music into the future”, Auntie Flo has spent the past decade building a reputation as one of the most adventurous DJs around. His sets draw on rhythms and sounds from across the globe, shaped by years behind the decks everywhere from Panorama Bar and Fabric to Glastonbury and beyond.
A four hour set with Auntie Flo is about immersion. Patient, expansive DJing that moves between percussive house, global dance music and deeper club sounds, letting the room slowly lock into its rhythm.
Opening the night is Kate Hutchinson, journalist, broadcaster and DJ. Formerly of Worldwide FM and now hosting a fortnightly Soho Radio show, she brings a deep digging approach to the warm up, moving through percussive and rhythm led dance music from across the globe with patience and care.
Tickets are available on RA. A very limited number are £5/£7, free before 9pm and £10 after. Come early and settle in.

As we build towards Stratos’ 10 year anniversary celebration at Grow on the 4th June, we sat down with each member of the band to reflect on the journey so far.
First up is Dom Pusey.
Originally from Hertfordshire, Dom joined Stratos in 2019 and has become a key part of the band’s sound on alto sax. Since moving to London, he’s worked with artists including Celeste and Wilma Archer, performed with soul legends The O’Jays, and appeared across live TV, radio and recordings for the BBC, ITV and Channel 4.

Guildhall School returns to Grow for the third edition of Charge, their annual summer showcase spotlighting artists from the Electronic & Produced Music department.
Expect an eclectic night of live music spanning indie rock, trip-hop-infused cello and vocal compositions, and jazzy alt-pop, reflecting the breadth of sound coming out of the department right now.
This year’s line-up brings together a group of emerging artists shaping their sound across London’s independent live circuit, with performances from:
