@littlebird.series episode one is out now in Canada on @aptnlumi and @cravecanada. I am honoured to have been part of this important and very often untold story.
The Sixties Scoop was a period in which a series of policies were enacted in Canada that enabled child welfare authorities to take, or "scoop up," Indigenous children from their families for placement in foster homes, from which they would be adopted by white families. This forced fragmentation of Indigenous communities is an act of violence that continues to affect the lives of so many to this day.
Working on this show has been one of those rare opportunities to engage in truly meaningful storytelling, I am immensely grateful to have been amongst such incredible artists and collaborators.
