Here’s a breakdown from Dawn Ducks Trapped by Dishes. A lot of work went into the bubbles for this shot!
I used stills of suds that then needed to be adjusted to feel real. I was able to do this by animating a subtle warp and using some bubble elements that were filmed on set to add popping bubbles within the stacks.
I also used some of the real bubbles shot on set for the floating ones but we also had CG bubbles that needed to be adjusted to match the rainbow feel the real ones have.
And on top of all of that I got to composite in the adorable Dawn Ducks, Drake and Dana. We have props of them that were photographed on set to help with matching the scale and lighting of the ducks.
