Week 17 - My Top Tips for Working with Braiding Hair:
- Slow down. I would argue that 90% of the problems people encounter when working with braiding hair stem from moving too fast
- Only work with what you can manage. I typically only work with the equivalent of two packs of hair at a time. Even if I am using 15 different colors, the total volume never exceeds two to three packs. It is best to work with small amounts to keep the hair controlled
- Tame the static. If you live in a dry climate and the hair becomes staticky, use a spray bottle with water to dampen it before blending. Controlling those “flyaways” prevents them from creating unnecessary tangles
