Allen Sunshine, winner of the Werner Herzog Film Award, out now on AppleTv and all rental platforms

Beyond excited to announce that my debut feature film “Allen Sunshine” will be world premiering at the 41st Munich International Film Festival. @filmfestmunich
Having made this film with my mother who’s been producing all my work since I was 14, it felt like an impossible idea to then create a work of art that we are so proud of and so excited to share.
I believe that choosing optimism is choosing happiness and that’s what I hoped to push with my film. In our current landscape, it seems that so much art made for and by young people is cynical and nihilistic and I hoped to bring a different kind of sensibility to my generation. Asking the viewer to slow down and be reminded of what truly makes us human.
So grateful to everyone that worked on the film and supported the journey ❤️

Recipient of the Werner Herzog Award, ALLEN SUNSHINE—the first feature by 25-year-old Harley Chamandy— is a pleasingly gentle character study set in scenic Lake Country, where music producer Allen has retreated to recover from a grievous turn of events.🛶
Don't miss it at the VIFF Centre, June 13-15 (and next week's First Look Friday!).

Winner of the Werner Herzog Film Award, Allen Sunshine tells the story of a music mogul who retreats to remote cabin to mourn his famous wife’s suicide. Amid the solitude of the Canadian wilderness he struggles with grief, until an unexpected encounter ends his isolation.
Programmer’s Note: There is something precious about Allen Sunshine. The film doesn’t strive for perfection, but in its calmness, it holds space for reflection—a meditation on grief. Beautifully shot, its visual language captures the lingering presence of loss, not through answers but through emptiness, exploring how we live in the wake of grief rather than how we overcome it.
Director Harley Chamandy wrote the film when he was just 19, and Allen Sunshine possesses an emotional depth and raw understanding of sorrow that resonates beyond expectation. That it was awarded the Werner Herzog Prize speaks volumes—not just to its impact but to the promise of Chamandy’s future work.
Nothing “happens” in Allen Sunshine in the traditional sense, yet everything is felt. The film lingers in moments of silence, in the spaces between dialogue, allowing the audience time to sit with their own thoughts and experiences of loss. In this way, Allen Sunshine is not just a film about grief—it is an invitation to confront it. —Brenda Moe @brendabean

Werner Herzog awarded my debut film “Allen Sunshine” last night.
So crazy. I am so honored to have done a Q and A with the man who made me want to make films.
If you have a dream, don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t achieve it. Be persistent. Be relentless.. but most importantly have faith.

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
