During the awards ceremony @ijonathanmoore and I kept whispering to each other — “what. is. going. on.” when we were announced for best original score, then cinematography… and so on. We didn’t expect “to win” anything because we weren’t seeking those titles. We already won because we did “the things” that got us there in the first place. But it was emotional, gratifying, and tbh a bit shocking. ngl I loved listening to peoples victory speeches tho 🎤

I’ve struggled to encapsulate what last week was, and it’s because there’s plenty left to reflect upon. And at this point, I can only express my gratitude for what others gave to me — their time, their effort, their talent, and their “yeses” to the difficult, challenging “asks” that this process required of us.

What this experience has gifted me is yet to be understood, but I can guarantee it was transformative in the best way. So thank you for choosing to use your life to make something meaningful with me — for us, and for others.
