If you didn’t know us already, we’re a creative studio that loves what we do and, honestly, we do a whole lot of stuff.But specifically, we do creative work that purposely ignores trends, dares to be different, and is made to last. This small, but mighty crew has teamed-up with companies of every size to craft brands that’ll get (your) people to take notice. We make brands that are rooted in sincere intention, because we know awesome work is equal parts industry smarts and feel-good vibes.

It feels weird to post about yourself, but after doing this whole independent studio thing since 2021, I figured it was time to do a brief introduction. Pardon the momentary cringe.
I’m Michael or Mikey, depending on who you ask. I co-founded and run KUYA alongside my much more talented wife, Janine. My focus is on the creative and production side of things, while hers is making sure our business runs smoothly. I’d like to think we make a great team.
We started KUYA as a way to break away from everything we didn’t like about working for “big” agencies. The layers, the inefficiencies, and most importantly, the values (or to some, the lack thereof). We didn’t set out to reinvent the wheel - we set out to change how the creative industry works with people.
We knew we wanted to create something that not only respected our clients, but also respected the folks behind the work. Respect for their talent, their points-of-view, and their time. Stuff that easily got lost in the hustle culture most of us were shaped by early in our careers.
When collaborating with clients, we aim to produce brands that are thoughtful, well-crafted, and made with care. We legitimately love what we do and hopefully it shows. Thank you to all the awesome leaders who have trusted us so far.
I can probably go on, but I did say this was supposed to be a “brief” introduction. If you know me, I can ramble with the best of em.
