During our summit this year, we focused on how sound can bring people together and the Bitwig (@bitwig ) workshop did exactly that. In two sessions facilitated by Hendrick Sam ( @hendrick_sam ) and Kevin Karanja ( @kevinkarash ), participants were taught how to make a beat from scratch and using Bitwig for Data Driven Music Sequences! Thursday we held the final day of our Bitwig Studio Workshops with Kevin Karanja (@kevinkarash) and Hendrick Sam (@hendrick_sam). Learners got to understand how to use the software to create exciting visuals from their audio creations!

Next stop in our Tech Workshops 2.0 is an Focusrite, Novation & ADAM Audio Open Day with BBYY. On The Island (@bbyyontheisland) on THURSDAY APRIL 16th! We’re switching things up a little with this Open Day being held by our partners over at Baraza Media Lab (@barazamedialab) in INDUSTRIAL AREA. Our friends over at Mathare Social Justice Center (@mathare_creative_arts_hub_) and Kibera Arts (@kicakibera) will be represented as well. We highly encourage women and any non-male identifying folks to sign up!

As most of us know the music industry is heavily male dominated and we want to offer up some space for those who might not even know that music creation is possible for them. So tell a friend to tell a friend to sign up! We’re excited to have you!

Today was the first day of our Bitwig Workshops with Hendrick Sam (@hendrick_sam) and Kevin Karanja (@kevinkarash). Today learners had an introduction to this exciting software and were able to start creating!
