We get it - fossils can look too incredible to be real. But they are!

Every fossil you see here is the result of millions of years of natural processes, carefully studied and preserved by scientists.

Sometimes, what you’re looking at is a cast or replica of the original specimen. This helps us protect rare fossils while still sharing them with everyone. But those replicas are made directly from real fossils and are scientifically accurate.

So when you hear “they’re fake,” just know there’s a whole lot of real science and passion behind every specimen.

The Freedom Plane National Tour: Documents That Forged a Nation has officially landed at @hmns now through May 25, 2026 ✈️📜

This incredible traveling exhibit features rare Revolutionary War–era documents and historic artifacts connected to the founding of the United States, including documents tied to George Washington and Alexander Hamilton. Even more fascinating? The collection is traveling across the country aboard a specially designed “Freedom Plane.”

🎟️ Admission to the exhibit is FREE, but you do need a timed-entry pass.
• Museum members can reserve tickets in advance online
• Non-members may be able to get same-day passes, but availability is limited

⏰ Exhibit hours typically follow normal museum hours:
Monday–Sunday: 9 AM–5 PM

📍Pro tip: Reserve your passes as early as possible because this exhibit has been extremely popular. And while you’re there, make a full museum day out of it — the dinosaur hall, butterfly center, and permanent exhibits are always worth exploring. Enjoy!!
