TLDR; When I was 17 (2006), I took a kitten from the shelter & around that time, I really liked the Trentemoellers track “Killer Kat”. Started using these aliases for music - “"𝑲𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒓𝒌𝒂𝒕” 2011, "𝑯𝒖𝒈𝒐 𝑴𝒆𝒔𝒊" 2021. I 💞 cats.

I just felt, that I needed to talk a little about my very important pet-partner, who has influenced me, most of my life.

This is my cat “𝑲𝒊𝒊𝒔𝒖” (𝒌𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒏𝒊𝒂𝒏) or “𝑽𝒖𝒓𝒓∞” (𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒔𝒌𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒏𝒊𝒂𝒏, 𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝑹), with whom I had the honour of co-existing amazing 16 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒔. She passed away last year, unfortunately.

𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒂 𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒅, 𝑰 𝒅𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒅 𝒒𝒖𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝒐𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑰 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒅𝒂𝒚 become a 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒕.

I was fortunate enough to have a chance to live on my own when I was 17. Around that time, I went with my friend to an animal shelter, just to look around - and there she was - 𝒑𝒖𝒓𝒓 𝒂𝒕 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕, I took her in from the shelter.

Inspired from her I took the moniker “𝒑𝒆𝒉𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔𝒐𝒆”, which means “𝒔𝒐𝒇𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒎”. Being constantly instilled by her unconditional love, warmness, chillness, snuggling etc. I felt - I, wanted also somehow to carry these ♥ energies with me.

So, I can’t even remember when, I took myself a new personal name (not just an artist alias) - 𝑯𝒖𝒈𝒐 𝑴𝒆𝒔𝒊 (mesi - 𝒉𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒏𝒊𝒂𝒏). 𝒉𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒚 associated for me, with these same energies.

We had many similarities. She was a very social cat, every party I had, I quite often put a chair for her to sit on & she was hanging out with all of us. When she was upset at me, she once pissed on my face when I was sleeping. Although I haven’t pissed on someones face, I can be sometimes also 𝒇* 𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 about something. The fact, that she also was an instant bestie with my child.. The list can go on and a lot of cool stories, but I’m running out of characters.

I just wanted to say - this cat literally changed my perspective on life gradually, and for that I will forever be grateful.

I just wanted to say - this cat literally changed my perspective on life gradually, and for that I will forever be grateful.

I was fortunate enough to have a chance to live on my own when I was 17. Around that time, I went with my friend to an animal shelter, just to look around - and there she was - 𝒑𝒖𝒓𝒓 𝒂𝒕 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕, I took her in from the shelter.

Inspired from her I took the moniker “𝒑𝒆𝒉𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔𝒐𝒆”, which means “𝒔𝒐𝒇𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒎”. Being constantly instilled by her unconditional love, warmness, chillness, snuggling etc. I felt - I, wanted also somehow to carry these ♥ energies with me.

So, I can’t even remember when, I took myself a new personal name (not just an artist alias) - 𝑯𝒖𝒈𝒐 𝑴𝒆𝒔𝒊 (mesi - 𝒉𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒏𝒊𝒂𝒏). 𝒉𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒚 associated for me, with these same energies.

“täna öösel me ei maga” whispers to those who don’t want the night to let go. a space for the restless, the untamed, and those chasing the quiet chaos of afterhours where time dissolves, and sleep feels like a distant idea...

*ੈ bjarki *ੈ

bjarki rúnar sigurðarson—known as bjarki—is an icelandic musician, sound programmer, provocateur, and label founder. his work moves between techno, idm, ambient, and experimental sounds, often defying structure and expectation.

he gained international attention through трип (trip recordings) with releases like arthur and the intergalactic whales (2015), b (2016), and lefhanded fuqs (2016). his track i wanna go bang became an underground hit, but instead of chasing that success, he veered away from formulaic techno. happy earthday (2019) marked a shift toward melodic and reflective work.

in 2022, he launched his own label, differance, as a home for bold, conceptual projects. his 2025 album a guide to hellthier lifestyle critiques wellness culture with dark humor and hypnotic electronic compositions.

bjarki is also rethinking live shows—performing only during seasonal changes and drawing on pagan traditions and ritualistic sound. this positions him outside mainstream performance culture, focusing on presence and connection.

he’s now expanding into film and immersive experiences, blending sound, movement, and visuals. bjarki thrives on unpredictability, constantly evolving on his own terms.

Polychromatic by @_xyiz_ is now available everywhere!

Fresh from his appearance on the third Reflexions compilation, Germany's xyiz returns to Echo Locations with Polychromatic, featuring three jacking groove-based techno tracks and a remix from @hugomesi.

The opening track "Like This" wastes no time setting the tone with an infectious, warm bassline reminiscent of classic house and techno. An uptempo jacking beat along with fluttering synths and looping vocal samples maintain a fevered energy from the first kick to the last.

Crisp, organic percussion is the central driving force of the hypnotic and minimalist track "Really." The unrelenting combination of kicks, hi-hats, and hand-held percussion is elevated by a backdrop of muted chords and another smooth bassline.
