Normally I can keep my cool when I get a chance to meet my idols, but holy hell did I lose my marbles when I got to meet @android_jones over the weekend.

Android Jones’ art is a continuous source of inspiration and his unbridled creativity is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. We spent so much time admiring his work in the gallery over the weekend and never ran out of new details to admire.

Wish I wasn’t so lost for words when we bumped into each other, but the universe provides and I’m sure we will cross paths again.

Transitioning from “bush doof” popularity to seek national recognition, he now leads Rain Dance, Perth’s leading three-day bass music festival, and co-heads Pulp Glitchin’ Records. This shift has significantly impacted bridging the musical divide between Australia’s West and East Coasts. The Illucid project, marking a strategic evolution in branding and sound, has rapidly gained traction on the national stage, featuring in major festivals like Mushroom Valley, Archaic Gathering, and Bass Camp, and is set to appear at Esoteric Festival in Melbourne. With a lineup of releases, collaborations, and performances planned for 2024, Illucid is poised to further cement his status in the electronic music community.
