Two years ago I launched my own design firm and as a designer I think the coolest part of the job is actually seeing everything get built. I recently got the opportunity to go to Vietnam to see a lot of furniture I designed for a restaurant get fabricated and it was the coolest experience (maybe ever?).

I took some time before hand to explore Vietnam - Hanoi, Bai Tu Long Bay, Hoi An, and Saigon and couldn’t believe how much I fell in love with Vietnam. It doesn’t feel commercial, the food is incredible, so many beautiful artisans and nice people. It’s also always fun to meet people from all over the world when you’re traveling. My brain felt like it was exploding with inspiration and creativity, just walking around every day and seeing the artisan crafts, architecture, and textures.
