We can't wait to obsess over, laugh, sigh, pause, nerd out, show off, give a fuck and drool over what unites us: our love of print.

But it feels especially timely.

Because dare we say... this edition is landing sooo differently.

With one shitshow after another and everything we love and care about teetering on the precipice, all that JAB Fair is, is the hope that print matters – always has and always will.

Our tiny mighty team knows and feels this, pouring our hearts and hands into making this the landmark year we hope it can be.

From the incredible roster of artists, designers, small presses and independent publishers, to the humbling commitment of our hosts @manacontemporary and supporters @monirafoundation and @jcartandculture, JAB FAIR 2026 is our time to come together and be reminded of the power that books, zines, graphic novels, posters, chapbooks and other printed matter have to be the medium of connection.

8 WEEKS TO GO and we've got a new fit!

JAB Fair 2026 is coming May 1–3 to Mana Contemporary in Jersey City. With all the exciting changes in store for our 4th edition, we wanted to mark the shifts with rebrand to match.

We turned to Kathleen and Christopher Sleboda, the incredibly talented graphic design duo behind @drawdownbooks. From the very start of #jerseyartbookfair, Draw Down Books have been an inspiration and so generous with their support of this endeavor. Collaborating with them has been an honor and pleasure.

Draw Down Books will be one of many amazing exhibitors at #jerseyartbookfair2026 (stay tuned for more announcements).

Describing their approach to our rebrand:

"Our process began with research into the visual culture of Journal Square—its transit systems, signage, and print history. From there, the design evolved into a modular graphic language that reflects the circulation and exchange of artists’ books and ideas."

Draw Down Books is a publishing platform founded by graphic designers Christopher Sleboda and Kathleen Sleboda (nłeʔkepmx). Headquartered in New Haven and Boston, Draw Down produces publications on graphic design, typography, and art. Their online shop features a selection of titles from around the world, including type specimens and posters.

Be sure to come by Sunday, May 3rd to the last day of DENSE’s fourth annual Jersey Art Book Fair, hosted at Mana Contemporary, with support from Monira Foundation and Jersey City’s Office of Cultural Affairs. Over 145 artists, designers, small presses and independent publishers will showcase books, zines, graphic novels, posters, chapbooks and other printed matter for sale across Mana’s galleries and courtyard.

Bodies of Flora reimagines vanished plant species from New Jersey. Told as a ghost story and presented as a live lecture-performance, the work draws on the history of botanical science to bring these forms back as spectral presences. It invites the audience into a collective act of conjuring—restoring presence to what has been lost.

Participants will help collect kindling that will feed the communal fire at the After Hours Party, looking for and scavenging along the Hackensack River (meeting point will be shared upon registration).

Ticket holders to this event get 50% off to the After Hours Party. Must be 21 years of age or older to attend After Hours Party. This ticket does not include entry to JAB Fair.
