It has been a total euphoria to have realised the new piece. I was having to manage extreme nerves and anxiety going into the making process, firstly because due to a bizarre abundance of difficult life events in the last five years it was my first new performance work since 2020, so I felt a little rusty. But mainly there was a lot of pressure resting on the new work going well (by which I mean me liking the resulting work) because I will be taking the piece to three other venues around Europe in the next three months. Although it will inevitably change on subsequent presentations I still needed to feel positive at the start of this cycle. I want to convey my absolute gratitude and admiration to my collaborators on The Pervert, all of whom I love and am just blown away by: @jackpenate @corrinmitchell @emmalynne.fisher @girlnextdwhore @jorge.c.goncalves. The devising process of these works is risky, chaotic, emotionally and physically exhausting and requires a total commitment and trust on the part of everyone involved, and I do not take that for granted at all, and so from the bottom of my heart I thank you all.
