“Capturing all this in three days on film, it was an uphill battle with time.It took an incredible amount of planning to figure out, since we had a B unit shooting the whole time as well. It always feels daunting and risky to to know that there’s these huge, vital pieces that the project hinges on, making sure we have time for them and doing them right. I am so grateful I was trusted to bring this project to life. It is a rare privilege to shoot narrative work with real storytelling that is longer that 30 seconds in the world ofadvertising. It was special to make a short film for March Madness.

This short was written based on the real accounts of a victim of human trafficking. Around 80% of human trafficking happens at motels. Showing the inner conflict of a victim who is now in a safe place but still reckoning with the past felt important and nuanced.
