Thought I’d take you back to where it all started — summer 2022 at @desertfivespotla.
What began as an excuse to hang with mates, crush some Coors Lights and listen to country music somehow turned into a business and a brand.
Our buddy @wadecrescent asked if we could activate the bar space during the Sunday pool parties. We dragged out an old 90s hat press and started making custom trucker hats, putting ridiculous shit on them.
We had absolutely no idea what we were doing and were learning on the fly. Looking back, the 1st gen hats and designs looked like shite — but you get better at it, and the locals didn’t seem to mind.
It became such a hit we kept going all summer, and eventually it turned into a regular Thursday night spot.
After years of hustling in different forms with @jadaandjon it finally felt like some of that spaghetti we’d been throwing at the wall actually stuck.
D5 helped give us a place to start and supported us while we built traction online. Honestly, it probably wouldn’t have been possible to turn this into a real job without their push. It’s pretty cool they continue to support local artists and brands starting their own adventures.
Now we’ve got a busy website, sell wholesale across the country, and get to collaborate with musicians, artists and athletes we genuinely admire.
Pretty pumped for what’s coming next — because it’s only getting bigger and better.
And I’m pretty damn happy to be doing it all with my wife of 20 years @jadaandjon — the hottest and best business partner ever.
