Lovely being back on the airwaves with you! It was like the first day back at school after the 6 week holidays feeling a little older & wiser! I was nervous - worrying the brain fog might steal my words but the music carried me as it always does!

Some people may think me crazy for coming back so soon I sometimes hide under the guise of being self employed (which is a whole separate conversation to navigate) but really at this point in my life & career its because I love my 2 hours on a Saturday running tunes with you. Same for being back in the club, It feeds me so i can feed them! That being said I hate the idea of a superwoman as its often said in the absence of what another woman wants or can do. I think its important to say that I respect and understand the mothers who do take longeroff or pivot completely & im aware for many the choice is just not that simple.

I’m lucky that @bbc6music is a progressive station filled with amazing people who alongside my Mum & Partner have created a safe space to work and breastfeed. Behind every great person is a village!

And still I’d be bare faced lying if I said I wasnt at times conflicted with what is deemed “normal” by societies standards or what people think. I think thats also why my nerves kicked in on saturday! The inner dialogue of Surely I shouldn’t want to come back….. will people think I’m a bad mum or selfish ect.

There is so much inward and mostly self inflicted pressure as parents. At the end of the weekend I was tired But I had the best time, I enjoyed my time on air and in the club then I enjoyed my time with my family! There is no balance or having it all! I just believe theres alot of joy to be found in the chaos of life however you choose to spend it.

I have to say a massive thank you to the wonderful @zzzakia for looking after the show balancing making amazing radio and being in full book mode I appreciate you ❤️
