Delighted to say that tickets for my autumn 2026 Nights Out In The kitchen tour, celebrating publication of my new cookbook out next year, are now on sale. You’ll find a link for tickets in the link tree in bio. Join me for a night of serious food chat as I answer the key questions: what’s the best thing to have on toast? How many uses are there for haggis? How do you write about food without overusing words like crispy, moist and succulent? And what’s the best way to survive cooking Christmas dinner? All this and an awful lot more.
And before anyone complains that I’m missing you out by not coming your way, these are the first dates. There will be more to follow.

As part of this year’s British Library Food Season I’m chairing a great event on June 16 marking what would have been the late Anthony Bourdain’s 70th birthday. I’ll be in conversation with @tealbysallyabe @chefandrewclarke and Zoe Williams, as we investigate his impact and influence, and whether the myth of the kitchen hero is always a force for good. You’ll find a link for tickets in my linktree in bio.
For today’s @ft_weekend I am @sentosa.restaurant on London’s Bermondsey Street specifically for the joys of Singapore Chilli Crab. In which I confess my ability to wear my lunch on my shirt, and wonder whether I ought to wear oilskins to eat it. Anyway it’s great. On Wednesday the JR Sextet is playing as part of the @dorchesterfestival, nr Wallingford in Oxfordshire. We’ll be playing our deep dive in to the chart hits of the 80s with jazz in their bones; songs by Fairground Attraction, Matt Bianco, Working Week and an awful lot more besides. There’s a link on the shows page of my website.

And a few more lovely dishes from @sentosa.restaurant on Bermondsey Street: soft shell crab, green beans with minced beef and spicy belacan, spring rolls and Singapore noodles. FT subscribers will find a link to the review on the journalism page of my website via by the LinkTree in bio.

It’s taken me far too long to relative neighbourhood newcomer @sessa.london in Herne Hill, but only because it’s always been full when I was around. Anyway finally today I had a lovely solo Sunday brunchy thing there today. This merguez sausage ragu on toast is a really good idea. Nice people too.

In today’s @ft_weekend review of the lovely @kallosmcr I wang on a bit about the joys of Premium tinned fish because they have a whole section of the menu dedicated to it. And then I realised I had a tin of Premium smoked sardines from Portugal in my cupboard. Well, there was only one thing to do with them: put a piece of kitchen paper on top so it soaks up all the olive oil and then set fire to it. The result is bbq fish in a tin. Full credit where it is due to @andythediamond who showed me this brilliant trick. Incidentally, his new Show the psychic, a follow-up to ghost stories, opens at the theatre Royal York next week. It’s bound to be superb. his work always is. there you go: both cooking and theatre tips

One of the things I adore about @kallosmcr is that they have a terrific list of premium fish from a can. Plus there’s their lamb flatbread and stuffed cabbage leaves. FT subscribers will find a link to the review on the journalism page of my website via the LinkTree in my bio.

Delighted to say I’m doing an event at this year’s @londoncoffeefestival, being grilled to a turn about my views on what I regard as one of the most intriguing sectors in food and drink. Head to their account for tickets. (People can be quite passionate about coffee. After one piece I wrote, bemoaning overly sour light roast espressos an Australian man threatened me with physical violence. I’m hoping to avoid that this time).

For today’s @ft_weekend I am @cometa.restaurant, a permanent fixture @carousel_ldn better known for short residence. It’s a delightful new Mexican restaurant featuring UK seafood, so let’s start with oysters, scallop and a zingy prawn ceviche. FT subscribers will find a link to the review on the journalism page of my website via the linktree in bio.
And do head to the shows page for links to my autumn one man show tour, celebrating the publication of Nights Out In The Kitchen, the follow up to Nights Out At Home.A few thousand of you already have your tickets but there’s always room for more.

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
