*Viewer discretion: This trailer contains sensitive material about grief, traumatic loss, and death*

Over the past year, I’ve been directing one of the most meaningful projects of my life: Selah, a documentary about grief, love, and the quiet strength it takes to keep living after devastating loss.

Filmed at Selah Carefarm, the world’s first carefarm for traumatic grief, the film follows people seeking solace after unimaginable tragedy. At the heart is Erik, a father and farmhand, rebuilding life after the recent murder of his three young children, now raising a newborn with his partner, Shiloe. Alongside Erik, we witness six people journey through a four-day grief workshop.

This project has changed me. The film is not about “moving on.” It’s about learning how to carry grief with compassion.

Selah would not exist without the tireless support, trust, and collaboration of Dr. Joanne Cacciatore @grief_doctor - Her vision and humanity shaped every frame of this film. I am deeply grateful.

I also want to honor the brilliant team that brought this film to life so far:

Editor, co-writer, and post-producer #SteveHoover
Cinematographer Ryan Sanderson @rsandersonfilms
Producer Ien Chi @ienthekorean
Producer Paige Demarco @dpd24
Colorist Matt Riggieri @riggieri
Title designer Ryan Ormsby @rhomas_ormsby
Sound design and mix by Tyler Myers @tyler.tmsoundhouse
Music licensed by @musicbed

This is an independent film we’ve poured a lot into; time, money, care, and our own resources. We’ve filmed and begun editing, and now we’re asking for your help to bring it to the lifecycle of this film to the people who need it most.

Please share this project with anyone who’s carried grief quietly. Thank you for helping us carry this story forward.

With gratitude,

🧑‍🎓 Proud Graduate Post: For the past 7+ years, I’ve had the chance to coach some incredible filmmakers, guiding them as they navigate the inherent challenges of balancing work and life, rediscover creative fulfillment, and move toward their goals. This experience, along with my own journey as a filmmaker, has taught me how closely our careers and creative work are tied to our overall well-being, and how important it is to approach growth with care and intention.

This understanding led me to take a deeper dive into learning and healing by studying lifestyle and wellness coaching through Harvard Medical School. I wanted to gain a more science-based perspective on how to better support filmmakers and myself in a sustainable, meaningful way. As most of us know; our industry can be tough, often leaving us feeling burned out or disconnected from what we love. I’ve certainly been there, and I know how transformative it can be to step back, realign, and reconnect with what matters most.

This season, I’ve been focused on healing and growth in my own life. It’s been a time of reflection, and it’s only strengthened my passion for helping others find clarity, balance, and purpose in their lives and work. Whether it’s reigniting creativity, creating balance, or taking a new direction, it’s been such an honor to have the opportunity to support filmmakers on their paths.

And while coaching has become a meaningful part of my life, I’m still very much a filmmaker at heart and remain actively involved in creative projects :) My love for the craft continues to inspire and shape the way I approach both my filmmaking and coaching practices.

All that said, if any of this resonates with you- or if you know another filmmaker who might benefit from my coaching- please feel free to share my contact, DM me, or visit www.jonathanbregel.com/coaching to explore what this kind of collaboration could look like. You can also reach me directly at jbregel@gmail.com

For now, here’s to growth, creativity, more joy, and embracing the journey!

🎙 Life Off Set (WanderingDP x Nourish): @_____persona._ (DP Duo).

Interview by DP @khalidmohtaseb & coach for filmmakers, @jbregel

What does cinematography look like when it’s not one person making the calls… but two people sharing authorship, pressure, and instinct in real time?

In this episode, we sit down with @_____persona._ Mario Lerma + Alex Rapariz- with Khalid Mohtaseb joining as co-interviewer, to talk about the human side of working as a DP duo.

What we explore:

• How they met and why the duo became inevitable
• How they prep so deeply that either one can answer on set
• The camera/lighting strengths that shaped their early roles (and how that evolved)
• How they keep the crew from feeling like they have to “talk to two people”
• The “third entity” they feel exists between them creatively
• What being a duo teaches you about ego, identity, and letting go

Persona: @____persona.
Projects: shotbypersona.com/projects

Join us in the community for a live conversation with Devin Mann @devinmann1 , Founder & CEO of @iconictalentagency for the next episode of the ongoing Life Off Set series created in collaboration with WanderingDP and Nourish. Nourish founder & Coach for Filmmakers @jbregel will host the conversation.

What this WanderingDP x Nourish “Life Off Set” podcast series is about:

Most filmmaking conversations focus on the work. How to shoot, direct, or deliver.

Life Off Set explores the other ninety percent. The habits, mindset, relationships, health, and inner life that quietly shape creative careers over time.

What to expect in this episode:

The first 45 minutes will be a focused conversation with Devin on:

• How Devin’s story and life experiences have led him to founding his own talent agency
• Devin’s philosophy on talent representation and what it means to truly advocate for artists
• Devin’s observations on how a filmmaker’s personal life, mental health, and inner stability affect creative longevity
• How trust, self-awareness, and boundaries play a role in career strategy
• What agents and artists often get wrong about success and sustainability
• How off set choices influence leadership, decision making, and long-term growth

Afterward, we’ll open the floor for attendee questions.

This session will be recorded live inside the Nourish community.

If you care about the human side of the filmmaking life and want a space where honesty matters more than polish, you’ll feel right at home. Join us for the next Life Off Set and be part of the conversation.

Join us in the Nourish Community on Tuesday, Jan 20 from 12:30–2:00pm ET for a live conversation with director and cinematographer @lucforsyth moderated by filmmaker and coach for filmmakers @jbregel , as we explore what it means to work in film without losing yourself in the process.

Luc has spent years working on some of the most demanding documentary and unscripted projects for platforms like Netflix, National Geographic, History Channel, and MTV. In this conversation, we’ll move beyond craft and credits to talk honestly about identity, endurance, and staying grounded in an industry that rarely slows down.

We’ll dive into:

Recognizing the early signs of self-abandonment in a film career

Navigating ambition, pressure, and opportunity without disconnecting from yourself

Working in high-intensity environments while staying emotionally and physically present

Setting boundaries that protect your inner life, not just your schedule

What Luc has learned about longevity, pace, and sustaining his creative life over time

This is for any filmmaker who wants to build a meaningful, sustainable career without burning out, selling out, or quietly losing touch with who they are along the way.

We’ll wrap with a live Q&A, so bring your questions and join the conversation.

*Please support our film via the link in our bio*

Deeply honored to share that our film was selected to close the documentary shorts program at the Sedona International Film Festival, just 20 minutes from where it was filmed. We truly could not imagine a more meaningful festival to premiere our film.

*Viewer Discretion: This trailer contains sensitive material about grief, traumatic loss, and death*

Filmed at @selah_carefarm the world's first carefarm for traumatic grief, the film follows people seeking solace after unimaginable tragedy. At the heart is Erik, a father and farmhand, rebuilding life after the recent murder of his three young children, now raising a newborn with his partner, Shiloe. Alongside Erik, we witness six people journey through a four-day grief workshop.

This film would not exist without the tireless support of Dr. Joanne Cacciatore @grief_doctor - Her vision and humanity shaped every frame of this film.

This film was also made possible by an incredibly dedicated team of filmmakers:

Director, EP, Producer, Co-Writer: @jbregel
Cinematographer @rsandersonfilms
Producer @ienthekorean
Producer @dpd24
Impact Producer #cynthialeung
EP @dannyyourd
Colorist @riggieri
Title Designer @rhomas_ormsby
Sound Design & Mix @tyler.tmsoundhouse
Original Score: @youngjesusband
Trailer Music Licensed @musicbed

This is a completely independent film we've poured a lot into; time, money, care, and our own resources. We've completed the film and now we're asking for your help to create a lifecycle for this film for the people who need it most.

Please share this project with anyone who's carried grief quietly. Thank you for helping us carry this story forward.

With gratitude,
Jon Bregel - @jbregel

On January 13th at 12pm EST, we’re hosting Design Your Year, a values-led workshop with filmmaker and coach Preston Kanak.

Anyone can attend through a two-week free trial to the Nourish Community.

This workshop also marks something meaningful for Nourish. Preston is the first coach we’re officially partnering with as we begin building a wider Nourish coaching ecosystem launching in Spring 2026.

Design Your Year is not a productivity sprint or a hustle-forward planning session. It’s a slower, more honest space for filmmakers who want the year ahead to feel grounded, sustainable, and true.

Together, we’ll reflect on the past year, clarify core values, name what no longer fits, and design a path forward based on how you want to feel, not just what you want to achieve.

If you’re craving clarity, alignment, and a more intentional start to the year, this space is for you.

Anyone can attend through a two-week free trial to the Nourish Community.

*12.27 Update: @khalidmohtaseb will be joining us as a co-interviewer w/ Nourish founder @jbregel . Khalid and Jon co-DP'ed a lot early on in their careers so they thought it would be fun to interview @_____persona._ together.

The conversation is now at 3pm EST / 12pm PST on Monday, December 29th.

Join the conversation + member Q&A with us in the community, check the link in the bio.

What "Life Off Set" is about: Most filmmaking conversations focus on the work itself. Life Off Set explores the other ninety percent: the habits, inner world, relationships, health, mindset, and patterns that shape everything on set, even though they unfold far away from it.
What to expect in this event:

The first 45 minutes will be a focused conversation with Persona on:

• How working as a duo reshapes life off set, including rhythms, travel, rest, and long-term sustainability

• The real decision-making process when there isn’t a single final voice

• The emotional and psychological impact of shared authorship and responsibility

• How trust, communication, and conflict play out in a creative partnership

• What being a duo has taught them about identity, ego, and leadership
Afterward, we’ll open the floor for attendee questions.

This session will be recorded live inside the Nourish community.

If you care about the human side of the filmmaking life and want a space where honesty matters more than polish, you’ll feel right at home.

Join us for this conversation with Persona and be part of the series.

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
